View Full Version : Anyone got a Clutch alignment tool?

Had a very productive morning, gear box gave up easier than I thought:D And sure enough clutch was down to the rivets:nod:

Time to put it back together now so any one local got a clutch alignment tool I can borrow please?

you big sissy

make your own using any sort of long round bit of metal (I used a socket wrench) and some masking tape!
just stick the socket wrench through the hole in the clutch etc to see where the clutch sits on it and then wrap the socket wrench with masking tape until it fills the hole in the clutch plate.

I did the clutch on my gf's puegeot 306 last week and aligned the clutch that way :nod:

I have an input shaft that will do the job better than any tool ;)

Its far easier to use than an alignment tool :nod:

Picked up the alignment tool from Drew earlier :notworthyso I should have it back together soon, But if as I suspect I can't lift the box back in I'll take you up on a few of those offers :thumbs:

Gav just a tip dude, don't do what i did, don't torque the bolts up to tight on the clutch cover. They are supposed to be 20 something nm but i torque it up alot more i didn't realise. Resulting in my exedy clutch cover has torn itself out of the bolts that haven't snapped. Clutch cover is fubar'd :(

£380 for a new one :eek:
