Scrap yards

anyone been to this scrap yard ?

if so is it any good? is it old fasioned i.e you take your tools or is it off the shelf jobby. ?

is it big ? ive been to a couple in the last week that can them selves car breakers and only have 5 or so cars.

anyone know of any big scrappies round oxfordshire ish area. i went to bloxham yesterday near banbury and that was a resonable size, just looking for more places like that.

I was going to say Smiths of Bloxham.
There's Harbury Lane breakers near Leamington. It's not as big as smiths, but they stack the cars up to get more in. It's one you can look around yourself too.

There a big walk around one in challow which is'nt far from here.

Aerial photographs would seem to suggest it's a little on the small and cramped side, so probably less likely to allow people to walk around in it.

I've been to Aylesbury Scrap Metal a few times. It's not walk-around, but they'll pull what you ask for off of cars they have in a day or two. They've also got a proper log of the cars they have in the yard, so it's not actually any hassle.

I got my lolvo intercooler from there. I just asked the guy at the counter for the largest intercooler they had. :D

When I was last there a few years ago the staff were pretty accommodating and friendly if you talked to them nicely.

been over to PC autos today thought it was worth a look.

picked up a saab intercooler and all the piping from the saab as well as the oil cooler. the intercooler is mint, no broken fins and doesn't look like it's been long in there

payed £20 for all of the above so not too bad.

Moved to home counties. My knowledge of English counties sucks though so may yet move again to wherever people who have used them are most likely to reside. :wack:
