Piman recommended i post here for a bit more luck in trying to find someone local that may be of assistance, just to play catch up.

Car turns over

Fuel pump does not prime, after this happened the first time it was replaced
with a walbro as the first thought was that the standard item had packed up.

This is not the case as their is just no power getting to the pump

Im told but could be wrong that all earths are fine and that all the fuses are ok and that there is power from the battery so we suspect it could be a relay issue.

Oh and the last thing that happened to it was the speedo sensor was disconnected after the manual conversion because we put an s13 box in it and it was working for a week after this so not the inhibitor switch.

I dont have any clue about relays where to start/ look. So as a result my car has been sitting for nearly two weeks without starting my usual mechanic even if i was to pay him to come hasnt got enough money to get to me, a mate of mine also with a 14a albeit a new owner cant start it and ive been expecting a local garage for about 3 days now.

I think that is all the details.

If ANYONE can help it would be greatly appretiated as I really don't want to ring nissan and get a wallet rapeing, ive managed this week because ive been ill although still depressing to see your car out there not ready for when you are better.

Will have a bit of cash for whoever can help.

Much appretiated people.

Hello mate,

Just to re-cap, your issue is that the fuel pump isn't priming?

Have you got a copy of the S14 workshop manual?

yeh no fuel pump priming when you turn the ignition on just been out there and moved all the relays around in an effort to sacrifice something of lesser importance than the fuel for diagnostics but still no joy and the battery is starting to die now as it has been sitting there for nearly two weeks with various start up attempts and only a little battery.

i do have a copy of the workshop manual but unfortunately im not fluent in mechanic only words and phrases.

sounds like immobiliser fault or alarm?

Much appretiated mate, ive got j from garagemac coming over in the morning to have a look but he confesses to not be amazing with electrics so will let you know how we get on. Likely hood is if it is immobilizer related we are pretty screwed.

Immobilisers usually have more than one cut, if it turns over then check that you get a spark.

If your getting a spark then it's easy to bypass the usual fuel pump circuit and try that.

Right after much deliberation and probing of wires we have discovered that we have power to the fuel pump from the ecu side but not to the relay on the drivers side at all so the diagnosis is that its the nats immobiliser system we believe.

So solution is attempt to get J's nissan consult working or get an s14 loom off of one of his other cars and get rid of the 14a ecu all together.

Unless anyone has any better ideas. Oh and we do have a spark.
