TBH a VW board i belonged to went trhu the same thing.... got really really nasty as well. got better for a bit, but it wasn't the same place.

I know how you feel. Its only been the last few weeks too. There used to be such a fantastic atmosphere here - seems to be fading. Usually I'm very easy going but I've started to get a bit fed up with the tone of things recently... :(

The worst thing is that I can't think of a way to bring things back to the way they were...

Maybe the mods could add a Max Flower section to the board - Something along the lines of "If you read Max Flower, Fart car, Trevs or similar, or you cant be bothered to type properly so it takes ages to work out what you're saying - post here. All posts like this outside will be deleted and the perpetrator banned"
Introduce a sticky with posting guidelines like" If you like huge bodykits, lots of stickers, neon washer jets (and neons), and general not go faster stuff, then post it in the Max Flower section"
Spelling mistakes dont bother me. Its that laxy bad typing like "I woz ere" etc that get on my tits.

i'm drunk so i have the utter and complete right to talk as much bollox as I wish... you can't stop me, so here i go... HUZZAH!! (and God save the Queen)

I rekon the new posts from the dumb ass inbreds are a little suspect. I wonder if mycroft has done his homework and figured out what would upset most of the peeps here... hehe maybe... juuuust maybe

Anyway, i rabble...

I've spent the past 9 years on the internet in various forms of communication from email, to IRC, to forums, newsgroups blah fecking blah.

And there is a common theme, the removal of reality from most communication. I like to put myself in a virtual room with said people and imagine how the conversation would progress if we were face to face. So imagine this for a moment... imagine most of the regular board posters were in a pub, chatting, drinking relaxing...

And then a coupla wise Max Flower type fellas wander in, giving it large and feeling the SXOC massive styleee presence. Most people are gonna just blank em, label them with the "you are a knob" sticker. Someone is gonna take pity and take em to one side and say...

"Look ere sonny, we arn't the all show and no go types, we like to chat performance and evolve through good style. Grab a beer, relax and get a feel for the fellow members"

And hopefully said flower boys would take hint and watch, learn, respect and fit in.

But for some odd reason, the internet removes sanity, it removes common sense. They loose all ability to receive subtle hints. Social logic goes out the window adn they repeat like parrots...

"Who's banged a blonde in their 200" They shout across the bar, with most people just raising eyebrows and shaking heads....

Gentlemen, get real, learn to read and consume... Max Power really is fake, fake in so many ways to the point where it's almost a comic book. it's ugly, over done images of ugly, overdone cars, women, ideas blah... it's just so bad if you read it with belief you need a real religion... and yes... we can offer you the new religion... it's called "Shut up and drive"

Quite simple really, stop thinking that fancy cars attract women, woo people into amazement (ok ok 7 year old school boys at bus stops are impressed... maybe thats your mental age.. ok, fine... sorry) and that driving 70 in a 30 is brave....

follow a real religion...

Lol! I once owned a Nova SR with huge subs, and drove like an idiot!

Now i've got a 200 with slightly less huge subs, and drive like slightly less of an idiot! :)

Evolution, it'll catch all boy racers in the end, and they'll look back and say 'I can't believe what a ***** I was in those days!'. Who didn't want a bright yellow Mk2 Astra GTE 16v with TSW Stealths and a 15" Sub when they were 17?

Or, Evolution will gobble them up with it's big bonnet vent, and get them airborne over a jump, like I did the other week in a stripped out Evo VI.... Oh yes! And drove (well, span) a Catheram Superlight, a VX220 tubby, and various other rapid machinery - But safely, on a track, and with instruction :)

I don't really know what else to whitter, so I'll find another thread to go stare blankly at for the 30 minutes it's taken me to collect enough intellect to scribble these few sentences. Maybe I'm tired now?? I think I've left the track... better go find it again.

Agree with you totally, have made many of the same points before (tho not here) - it is just coz peeps can hide behind thier monitor and so they get all cocky and ard innit bruvva?
