Propane Injection??

just recieved an email from a mate, whats this all about?

Hi.

Does anyone have any personal experience, or know of any web site with information on the use propane injection to prevent detonation at higher boost levels (20+psi) on pump gas ?

I have heard of quite a few people experimenting with PI, but no concrete evidence that it works. There is quite a lot of info on the web on using PI on diesel motors, but strangely several sites have a warning that if you start to hear detonation you're using too much propane !?

If you search, someone a while back was on about a mate with a cossie running 35 odd psi - he kept a barrel of it in the boot or something :confused:

Wouldnt it just be cheaper if you have got the point of charge cooling just to use water ???? ........ or is the use of a flamable substance all important from getting you from 634BHP with water to 635 with propane ??


then again, a bottle of water weighs less than a great hunka propane gas bottle, so the weight difference probably levels its self out ?
