Box Hill is having its yearly spring jap meet again......Always a good turnout of cars from a fair few forums.....Supras, MR2's RX-7's, Skylines etc....Would be cool to have a few 200's there :nod:

I didn't know about it tbh but am very interested :nod:. Was going to be cleaning the car in preparation for Duxford on Sunday so cab pop over after that. What sort of time does it start/finish?

It does feel like I've been working on it for ages (its been off the road since Jan) but it will be worth the wait - for me anyway. I'm not sure anyone else who has seen my car before will notice any real difference unless they look underneath.

As it stands

Unfortunately I can only work on the car during the weekends and after work when I'm not busy but it doesn't help that I'm a perfectionist and everything needs to be done right (I spent hours removing the rust and cleaning up the welds on the subby). It will be worth it though. Once its done some new wheels will be in order and a bigger turbo:wack: The fun never ends!!!

THe MR2 boys are looking to be there 9.30-10.00 so even turning up at 12 ish there may still be space.....If the weather is poo there won't be a parking issue at all...

I been to this meet before and it was pretty good! You do have to get there early though! When I got there it was packed and then rained a bit so some people left - which gave me a parking spot!

thanks for the offer mate but its just getting it in some kind of "clean" state, the guages all need to be rewired wired if the pod thing ever turns up and everytime i look over the car there is another bit that needs painting.....seems to be going down hill, and the monkey puzzle is next to chessington world of adventure

Well I'm coming from Woking, so the easiest route for me (to the car park in Box Hill,) is probably; A3, M25 (get off at Leatherhead,) and then follow the A24.

So if you're coming from Epsom the best place to meet would probably be as I come off the M25, either on the A243 lay-by next to the vehicle testing/weigh bridge (though you’ll need to go up the A243 duel carriageway, go round the roundabout and come back on yourself to get there, if that makes sense.) Or we could meet in the car park just after the Knoll roundabout (on the A24,) which I believe is the first left after the roundabout.

tools and help would be great mate, not to sure what has happened something to do with spark plug gaps (thats what i was told but seems a little odd as there iridium ngk plugs), i do know that i need an electronic boost controller as when it was getting mapped the bren device only went to 2 bar and the guy was like....you need more boost :wack: more boost at 2 bar :annoyed:

so i turned it down to about 1.5bar at the minute, on boost it just coughs alot spoke to mate and he said that the spark might be getting blown out :confused:

anyway im up at stupid o clock to wash and clear the car....so see you at the car park chaps :thumbs:

Could well be that the spark is being blown out, that's the problem with Iridium plugs, you cannot adjust the gap. I've got a set of NGK copper spark plugs, however they're 7's and you'll need 8's now, so I'll try to pick you up a set on route :thumbs: I'm sure we can get it sorted. On another note, did you have the car on the rollers for the mapping, or was it done on the road?

I rocked up at about half past 2 and it was all done by then, there were a few ricer wannabes in the over flow carpark and a Scooby but that was it!

I obviously missed it all :D

Like you Darren I remember when you couldn't even get into the car park if you didn't arrive at the crack of dawn and the meet would still be going strong at 5!

Yea it was an interesting evening/morning, and again cheers for the help, a second pair of hands when refitting a gearbox is always very useful! :thumbs:

anytime mate, im normally not up to much apart from work..., couldn't believe that carrera 4 s on the way back today he just couldn't get away so he then tried to chase me and couldn't keep up :thumbs: i had the biggest grin on my face and then he was all thumbs up as he creeped off ha ha...was a good day today nice to meet some of the guys and catch up with the ones i sort of know, will have to wait for the un-officialteam project D photographer AKA SNAPPY SNAPS....to get the pics up :thumbs:
