Stretch applies to tyre width NOT diameter :wack:

Try giving Howard at Ivan Barretts a call mate. I don't know if he'll do stretched tyres, but I'm pretty sure he fits tyres and is damn good with 200sx's! He's also a driftworks approved fitter. 01487 822474 He's in Warboys.

I normally use cambridge performance tyres and they are generally good. Just asked for Barry!

The tyre guys there are good an take care - however the MOT tester guy was helping them put the tyres back on my car and I'm pretty sure he was not careful and scratched my brand new wheel!!:annoyed: with the torque wrench - only saw it a few days after though!

Ah ok
Tyres can be stretched onto WIDER rims than they normally should be on, as the sidwall allows the flex required to seat the bead on the rim.

The diameter CANNOT be stratched as the bead of a tyre is steel. An 18" inch tyre will only fit an 18" rim

hth

:D

Ok lol.

In answer to your question a 225/40 will stretch onto a 9.5J and look quite good
a 235 should go on even easier!

Just a week ago i fitted some 225/40 to a 10j rim, that was a little tricky lol

think we both have our wires crossed dude:) I know that, but I have put 9.5x19 by mistake:rolleyes: I meant some where to stretch a 225/40/18 front and 235/40/18 rear onto 9.5x18 rim:D

Lol

<--- un-crosses my wires lmao

Im sorry i dont know a perticular garage local to you mate, but upon trying to do it myself i ended up having to goto ATS euromaster to get them fitted as they have better facilities than my local tyre guy. Somwhere with a bead blaster (cheater) will be able to pop on stretched tyres more easily :)
