Hi All,

GotBoost Performance Tuning is officially opening on Bank Holiday Monday 13th April and i would like to invite everyone along for the day where I will be offering power runs at less than half price on a first come first served basis. Should be a decent turn out and I look forward to hopefully meeting some of you guys ( and girls ).

3 runs including AFR and Boost logging where appropriate, £20.

GotBoost is pleased to offer all manner of ECU recalibration on our Dastek Digital spec 2WD dyno.

Located next to Llandow Race Circuit, South Wales, CF71 7PF.
Please note that the side entrance which offers easiest access is closed on Bank Holidays and you will have to come in through the main FORD entrance, then follow signs for ' Snaffles Saddlery' and continue towards the gate.

New website can be viewed on the temp server whilst awaiting transfer - www.GotBoost.freehost10.com

Thanks for reading.

Hi Guys,

Just want to let you know that I was too quick in posting this ( before reading terms ) and i apologize, i immediatly sent a PM to the Moderator informing him/her of the post and requesting further info to become a official trader / get permission to post. So once again, I apologize, it is not my intention to break the rules and upset anyone here.

As for me, my background is mainly building / tuning Honda turbocharged vehicles for many years as a hobby with great success, more recently i have been working out of Circuit Motors renting their dyno to perform calibrations to customers ECUs but it soon became apparant that financially i would be better off looking into setting up on my own. I run the tuning business part time working around my main occupation which is an electrical controls specialist at Bridgend Engine plant, where i am part of the team that maintains the LR V8 and Volvo SI6 production lines. I am proficient in many types of control systems as well as good engineering background and problem solving skills. Last year i had the pleasure of attending EFI University's 101+advanced training held at Paramount Performance which puts me in good stead for carrying out safe, reliable calibrations in a controlled manner. I have an eye for perfection and am friendly and reliable.

The dyno is the best locally, with 12 channel datalogging and Phormula Knock detection that has been connected to the Dastek logger to provide realtime display and logging of knock activity. Dastek have rated my dyno at 600+bhp traction permitting, though im yet to test this boundary ; )

I understand that alot of you guys on here have a great tuning knowledge, and of course the dyno is available to rent should you wish to carry out your own calibrations, with myself as the dyno operator available to offer help/advice where/if needed.

Thanks for reading.

Hi Craig, I'll be along with Steve. :)

Dastek have rated my dyno at 600+bhp traction permitting, though im yet to test this boundary ; )

And when Steve's made my downpipe I'll hopefully be able to test that out for you. :D
What happens if you reach it's limit? :wack:

Sold to me Craig and Cardiff R33 (Ben the :ghey: boy) can test the upper limits of your road im sure. 675bhp at the last count I believe :)

sounds good to me too, am at donnt all weekend so the misses probably wont want me spending another day on cars but wish you all the best and will pop downa nd maybe talk about a RR day!

GotBoost

WOW, dont break it guys !!!! LOL

The Dastek software is rated to 750bhp, but i am using a refurbed SUN bed which has smooth rollers. One of my biggest concerns when buying the dyno was being able to test at least 500bhp and Gerry Gaffney has assured me that this wont be an issue with the faster ramp rate calibrated. I still have my doubts and it is a major concern for me. If someone has something 500bhpish and would like to pop down this saturday for some free testing please get in touch.

Gez - Nice to hear from you mate, Steve speaks very highly of you and everyone on here.

A little warning guys, i have advertised the opening on a wide range of forums, so expect a few ' not so nice ' cars to be there. But pop down, take a look around, and maybe sort out another dyno day specifically for you guys in the future.

I will pop up, over 425bhp (at the fly), but not quite 500. Could be the first test, then Ben could go on at low boost which is about 550bhp for him.

I could possibly pop down on Sat, I need to finish some mapping before hand though.

I will be there all day Saturday if anyone wants to pop down for a chat before the opening. You will have to come in the FORD entrance as detailed above, the side entrance which is right next to my unit is unfortunatly locked at weekends and bank holidays, so i apologize in advance for the poor quality road through the industrial estate.

I do have a Civic booked in for a little work, but will be available most of the day.

I might pop down on the Saturday - want to organise a day with you (will speak to you about it on Saturday).

How close are you to Llandow Circuit??

Hi Craig:thumbs:, popped down the unit today but you must be in the factory.

Will definatly be at this but may have to overwelm the rollers with 1.25 Fiesta muscle:rolleyes:
Glad to see all the stress and hard work is done mate! Time to start enjoying yourself with this:D

Massive :Plug: for this guy. Worked and RWYB with him for years, has built and mapped some really quick cars and to call him a petrolhead is a little bit of an understatement:nod:

Yeh I would definately use them, I had to leave just before the monaro went on but I did hang around for Chriss13 to run his

I will let him tell you what happened:wack:

13-04-2009, 20:03
Just got in now - supper happy with my result even if the car did make a huge mess :wack:

401 bhp with a few problems, slight boost leak...

Chucked the dipstick out which i think is probably just breathers being blocked, but we'll see!

The monaro made 415 at the wheels... but about 540ish at the fly?! is the loss usually that bad on them ?!

Meh, my crown didn't last long. :( Not that i expected it to.
Must try harder. :D

We couldn't get a proper fly reading when craig ran my car for some reason (recorded 487, but actually ~450-460), maybe something similar happened with the Monaro because 125 losses on 2WD doesn't sound right?

haha yep... well the floor looked a bit clean anyway.. someone needed to fix that :D

checked the oil levels and thats all fine though (lost a tiny bit but nothing to worry about) - car was spot on all the way home :)

i think my next plan is to replace ALL hoses on the car or im risking doing damage, to many of them are starting to perrish!

I'll be heading for the 600 mark as soon as i get some fundage, then we'll shop up these 5.7 v8 supercharged monaros:ghey:

didnt sound right to me either... mine was 344 atw i think so just over 50 lost

Jezz_S13
13-04-2009, 20:38
Yeah last time I had mine RR'd (september 08) the losses were 63, and it ran 396@wheels on Sat.

GotBoost

Hi guys, thanks for the nice comments.

The Monaro actually displayed 510bhp (ish) at the flywheel, and 410whp. I did explain that the fly figures may be a little off on the high power cars, but both chris s13 and the monaro seemed fair. I will get onto Dastek about the coastdown losses not registering on the screen with high power cars, so as of now i cant say for deffo if the fly figures are right or not. the wheel figures should deffo be accurate though, no problems with traction on either car. The monaro made around 400whp recently on a DD. The owner is adamant that there is 135bhp lost through transmission, and this does seem very high losses, all things considered i dont think 410 - 510 is a rediculous conversion for that particular car? Opinions?

Chris s13 - Im pretty sure yours registered the losses correcly, but its been a long day and i cant remember for sure to be honest. Either way the WHP figure will be correct, or at least as correct as comparisons between different dynos can be ; )

Big thanks to everyone for coming, i hope to see you all again soon.

57bhp seems reasonable, and jezz has said he lost 63 elsewhere at similar power so id say thats probably spot on :)

Was a good laugh though had a mint day out... and thanks again for the help sorting out my little problems probably wouldnt have got home without it
