Anyone taken the online IQ test at http://www.bbc.co.uk/testthenation/

If you know nothing about it, its a national IQ test organised by the BBC for the past couple of years. Theres also stats there for results already collated. Unbelievably, the higher your earnings the lower your IQ is likely to be :) Non drinkers typically have lower IQ than excess drinkers :)

Posting results here optional :p I scored 109 which means I a bit thicker than I used to be :o :o Must be the booze

I took the one on the telly last night, whole family did it and it is the first time that I have done one (mum & dad did it last year). :)

Found the first section easy, memory good to, maths a little disappointing 9/12 (I'm good at maths at uni, have to work out lots of complicated stuff but alas I couldnt add up the 6/7 numbers quick enough lol /blames tiredness  ), but then it went a bit pear shaped on the logic section. Some of them were not hard but I kept running out of time, 5 lines of passage to read and 6 or so seconds to answer it by deduction argh!!!

Still I dont think I didn't perform too bad and could do better (given a little more time i reckon i would have got another 5 marks at least, some i worked out the answer right on the buzzer but then they went onto the next question and I didnt know which box to tick to represent my answer grrrrrr  )

Anyway enough rambling, I scored 58/70 (21yr old male) giving me an estimated IQ of 118 :)

Blimey, u lot. We have got some pretty intelligent IQ's on here haven't we? Unfortunately I didn't do so well (mine is 85 :( :( , but I have the excuse that when I was born I weighed 3 pounds 8 ounces & I don't really drink that much either)!! Although I got 91% on the memory bit :D :D , but got let down in the numbers (groan) coz I got 16% :o :o .

He is level with the bloke on the site yeah. Last year he did it and again was level with the highest score, got a feeling that was around 146 though. He does know what he is on about though.:)

I got 134. Got 2 wrong on the logic section (grr should have been good a those :o ) and another 2 elsewhere (both in the same section, forget which) I was a fat git of a baby at 8lb 12oz :) although my mum and sister who both have higher IQs were both lighter.

I weighed in at just over 2lbs when I decided I wanted to be born and it was 3 months earlier than it should have been!

Managed to get 94 and that was rushing through some of the online questions! I completey bombed on the maths questions as I can't deal with numbers to save my life!

Anyone else born at a smaller weight than me?!

Bare in mind that everyones result on that test only has a slight baring on what their true intelligence. It is merely a tesyt of academic ability. Do you really think that someone that was highly intleeigent, but with very little education could get a good score on it?
Its just a bunch of sad academics that made up a test so they can congratulate each other on how superior to the "mere thick" general populace they are.
If the IQ test was based on how often they get laid, then I think they would do a lot worse.
However to get a high score you would need to be pretty intelligent, although you can practice at these tests and get a significantly higher IQ.
So, those with a high result are probably clever, but those with a low score do not worry - it just means that your probably not an acedemic person, and as much as Tony Blair would love it to be the other way, a lot of people are more practically minded than acedemic.

I did the test and I was pissed out of my head... I had trouble reading the question let alone trying to understand it.

and I got 98:o

I really want to take the test when i am straight... at least I know I can do better :)

my worst section was the maths. never have been able to do it without a calculator, not even at college. :(

reminds me why i did'nt try to go further at college now, because i would have failed miserably at the maths related stuff.

right where's that knife

/sound of nail being hit on the head

They might bask in their glory of so called superior intelligence, but what do they do, exactily?
Go on about how they are in the top 1% of the general population at what exactily? non application of brain power?
