Quite possibly, depending on whether I get the day off.
Cool, yep I'm going to go
I won't book it, but might turn up and and try and get some time in the afternoon if the weather is nice. :)
Although I have got Castle Combe the day after, so will have to try not to break it :wack:

I might be up 4 this, how much is it and whats the website ?
Booked
website is http://www.motorsport-events.co.uk/track-days.php
I think they run a good show and Ed is a good laugh. Going to go to shakey the day after for some drag racing as well I think
I forgot I posted this!!!
I've been there once with a mate with an evo, but this is officially my first track day where i'll be driving.
It may get quite emotional when I realise how slow my car is and how bad a driver I am!! Maybe even more so if anything bad happens to my motor!

Sounds like me! lol
I've been on track days with me driving, but never in my own car.
Not scared of track driving, just scared of messing my own car up!! hehe
Lol, no its great fun and really relaxed at abingdon. GZoing up against F40, Ultimas, Atoms etc means you dont stand much of a chance of keeping up anyway so you can just relax
Just checked my diary .. was going to come up anyway, but I'm at Oulton Park for EDC that weekend :(
I was there last month in my mate's S13, liked it so much I bought one last week..! Will be there soon hopefully.

Was that the maroony coloured one standard looking one, think it may have had Scumball stickers on it?

Lol, good work! You don't find yourself near Culham at all do you? I've seen a couple of S13s around here and no one ever responds to my 'Was it you?' posts.
Hi Mate, yeah that was us in the grey 200sx and yes with the Scumball stickers..! My mate drove to Germany to the Nurburgring from the UK then the brakes died so he drove a few laps around the track and back home with no brakes, he said it was a little scarey..! He got them fixed for the trackday though, until I cooked them..!!
Hi Sulley, Not been through there yet mate as I only just got the car. But will be driving it about in the area, so you may see me.! It's a burgundy colour by the way. I'll keep a lookout too..!

Ahh, got the colour wrong. I was in the dark bluey green MX5 with black wheels :)
Ah yes, I remember..! Did you see the pictures the photographer took?
In case - http://www.photodirectuk.com/abingdon20090327.htm
I saw a few of them - just looking on the camera to see if I've got any footage of me overtaking you :D
I should think there's quite a few..!
I never really seemed to be out at the same time you guys were - Only once or twice I think...

Yep, spectators are never a problem, although there's not much in the way of facilities... Normally you can pay a tenner for passenger rides on the day too :)
although there is a mcdonalds and a tesco nearby.

im leaving the rx at home...coming in a vx220! no chance of problems with noise in that :D
Well that was awesome :)
Huge thanks to Figjam for the loan of tools, and helping me swap my wheels over. Nice to meet everyone else too.
I'm shattered now, the car can wait till tomorrow to be unloaded!
Strange how my exhaust is 97db when cool, and 102db when hot!!
Looking forward to seeing the pics:)

Cool pics
What was the track like?
It was good! But I've only been on that one track so I'm not sure if my opinion is very valid.
They had quite a few chicanes which I hated to start with, but ended up loving. There was plenty of runoff if you managed to cock up, which I did - but only on one occasion! The longest straight on there I only managed to get up to 95mph, maybe a ton, the others got more, but it was good enough for me. The 90° left at the end of it certainly allowed me to test out my new 330mm brake setup. :)
You could get plenty of track time if you wanted it and there was plenty of chat between 'contenders' :p
BUT the burger van went at around 3pm - that sucks!!!
I'll be going to another Motorsports Events trackday, donno where yet, gotta save some money first.... and get some coilovers..... and some better tyres.... and..... and.... and...!!!
What happened to Dan? I saw you come in to pits and get a talking too, I'm guessing from the above that your exhaust was too loud. Did you get to go out again?
Apparently my car was noticeably louder than others out on track at the time, so they called me in for a noise test. Can't think how mine was louder than the external wastegate skyline or the bike engined caterham type.
They were right though! With the exhaust really hot, it measured 102db, 2db over their limit.
I let it cool down, then went back for another noise test and it came out at 97db, so they let me back on track:)
That was my last go though, as I was running out of fuel....think I got about 8mpg on track!
My semi-slicks are kind of slick now too!
Would like to get some more track day tyres, but need to buy new road tyres for Le Mans first

Yeah, bits like that are quite satisfying once you get them right! :) Theres a couple of bits like that at Thruxton that I really liked :)
Will have to take my own car out one day :) Have driven on the track a few times, just not been brave enough to do it in my own car yet!!
