When i select Reverse gear and move off i get a grinding sounds almost as if i were dragging a scaffolding pole under my car. or the sound of the disc scraping off the backplate on the hub.

had a quick look underneath and cant see any obvious signs.

any ideas?

Auto or manual?
Brake pads is one option I guess..

pads all look fine, had the passenger side window down coming back from work today and there is a rattling sound coming from that side when going forwards. not very loud but noticeable.

i checked the backing plate and the front one seems a little bit loose so i have pushed it back so it wasnt gonna touch the disc but the scafolding pole noise is still there.

anywhere i should have a look?

i think ive sourced the problem, i think its the Back plate hitting the disc, hows the back plate fixed onto the hub?
