View Full Version : And this week's successful candidate for nob of the week is...
The middle aged biddy in the Nissan Micra I happened upon this afternoon.
On our way to my folks for lunch we got stuck in some temporary traffic lights. Traffic crawls along as it does and I have a woman in a Micra right behind me. Thought nothing of it.
We're about 12 cars from the front of the cue and we start moving. Now it was obvious that the car 5 cars ahead wasn't going to get through on the green, never mind me so as the queue stars to move I just take my foot off the brake and allow the tickover to move us along. That creates a gap of about 20 feet between me and the car in front which Micra woman saw as an overtaking opportunity (which let's face it is the only chance she's ever going to get in that car to pass a 5litre V8). She gets level and I think "cheeky cow" and gently accellerate closing the cap. By this time the queue has come to a halt again (big fcuking surprise :rolleyes: ) and we all stop, with Micra bid stuck on the wrong side of the road :eek: :eek:
The car that had been behind her has closed the gap leaving her with nowhere to go and traffic about to come from the opposite direction.
She looks across, panic on her face and I give her a cheery wave. Traffic approaches and stops, until Micra bid realises that her only option is to reverse the 500 yards back to the last junction :D :D :D

My driving instructor did a similar thing to me on one of my lessons, we approached a queue of traffic nd he says to me "this is a one way street, you can go in the other lane", which I duly did. So we drive past all this other traffic and stop on what appeared to be the right hand lane, sat there for a few seconds and this Metro starts heading straight for me!! :eek: "B*ll*x, we are in the wrong lane" my driving instructor said "quick, back it up!!!" so I had to reverse back and luckily some of the cars in the queue moved back so I could move into the "right" queue!!
I certainly pooed my pants, and my instructor couldnt have been more apologetic! :rolleyes:
I thought the whole thing was rather amusing, as the instrucor was entirely at fault, well, thats my story and I am sticking to it! :D

b) what were you driving? 5.0 V8 sounds tasty... Is it the Merc? surely not...

Isnt the E500 the ultra rare M5 rival type thing that Mercedes made? If I remember right they are awesome!! :D :D

Incidentally, I was in the 200 last Summer and was stuck on an A-road in the Country - doing all of 10mph due to the VERY slow farm lorry about 20 cars in front (long hill climb job :rolleyes: ).
Anyway, similar to you (surprise ;) :p ) , rather than sit on the rear bumper of the guy in front I let the traffic move 20-30ft each time before I eased forward and then came to the inevitable stop again.
This has been going on for about 15 mins when the w@nker in the Volvo estate behind decided to OVERTAKE me and nip in front :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: !
What the f*ck that was for I still don't know but, wow, did I give him a hard time when 'normal service' resumed! :mad: :mad: :mad:
The best bit was the fact that I took EXACTLY the same turnings as him, by pure chance, for about the next half an hour (including travelling about 5 miles across Bristol) - he must have been
sh!tting himself :D :D :D :D
Serves the selfish b@stard right, though.
Just like your old biddy who just HAD to make up that extra space - or NOT as the case was :p

The 500E is the ultra rare, built by Porsche M5 rival (some would argue M5 beater). :D :D
The E500 is just a standard production MB E class that just happens to have a big fcuker V8 under the bonnet. Very fast (for its size) but a lardy bugger in the corners :(
