As the title suggests, took a test drive in a Lotus Elise 135R today and it was rather good!
Really darty steering, really good throttle response, unfortunately got caught up in a bit of traffic so going for another drive next Saturday. The track suspension was very firm but still cool for road use, makes me want to stiffen up the soggy 200

Second time I've driven an Elise now, but this time could not quite get used to the solid brake pedal feel, and also kept hooning the throttle whenever I pressed the brakes, as the pedals are quite close (or was I cunningly heel and toeing?;) )

It did feel a bit slow in a straight line though:(
Got in the 200 and did the same road route after:D :D

Well I went on an airfield (North Weald) with 3 mates last week and two of them had Elises, one the standard and the other a 111s and they we quicker round a short circuit than my 200 and also my other mates Supra with 500bhp. Having said that the 111s owner came round with me and although it was the slowest time, he said it's the most fun he's ever had in a car (and he wasn't even driving!)
One thing though, the Elises don't have spin fast, though whereas I got through a newish set of F1s in one day, their tyres (although were smoking during the spins) looked pretty intact! But then again a 200 weighs about 1100Kg and an Elise weighs 795Kg ...
