i got some led bulbs to replace all the interior festoons in my s13.

now im aware that they only work when fitted a certain way so got them all in and working.

today i noticed that even when switched 'off' ie doors shut, they are all still illuminated slightly:confused:

so had a play about switching headliner on/off manually. when i switch the headliner to 'off' position its is completely off. when in 'on' position its on perfect. but when in 'door' position its glows very dim when it should be off and bright as normal when it should be on.
footwell lamps are the same (except theres no option to manually turn them off!!)

obviously this is pants because its gonna drain my battery all the time. they even stay illuminated slightly with keys out. but i think they went off with the engine started?

if any one could shed some light (excuse the pun) id be grateful:thumbs:

try this stick in ure orignal bulb ,and stick a volt meter across terminals bet u find they do it to, its just leds use far less power to light up. But yes mabe a fault

chers for that, i spoke to a knowledgable friend yesterday and he said the same thing. is there anyway to make the voltage zero across the bulbs?

I would suggest a dodgy earth. Clean all the contacts. Also clean the contacts on the door switch.

As above, the door switches work by connecting to earth to make a circuit. Press the door switch fully in and see if it still does it.
