Think I might go for this one. Hopefully my turbo won't make a leap for freedom this time.

Tempted :)

Has Donny been torn up and f1'ified yet, or will this be one of the last chances before it gets done?

Booked.

Went for the intermediate group. I always seem to get trapped behind slow arsed race series minis racing each other in the expert group.:ghey:

Booked. Novice group, as my better half will be driving as well :)

Am I going to be better off in the intermediates, thinking about it? She's done a few trackdays now...

The cars, driving abilities and common sense of the various groups can vary massively from trackday to trackday.

I would go for intermediate. I'm sure you can change on the day anyway. Last time I went to Donnington in December there were only two groups.

I asked her what she'd feel more comfortable in and she immediately said Novice, so I'll prob stick with that for the time being :)

Anyway - at least I might stand a chance of overtaking some people ;)

Am I right in thinking the average screamer pipe wont make the sound regs? :(

SM
26-03-2009, 21:33
The average 200SX without one wont, no chance sorry.

One of my mates with a '5 has also booked into the intermediates :)

I may ask if I can split sessions, one hour beginner, next hour inters - anyone asked them about this before?

Forecast isn't looking too hot at the moment either :(

Single seater crashed into the pit wall last trackday I did at Donnington.:wack:

Forecast is now sunny spells, not rain, so that's something. Haven't had a chance to look at the car since it's last trackday at Abdingdon, so I've got plenty lined up for this weekend :(

Some of the guys from work were at Donny on a trackday last monday - they are being monstrously anal with the sound regs too - one of them has an Auto R34 GTT - he went past one of the testing booths with it touching the limiter (crap slow auto box ;) ) - the backfire put him over the limit (107dB) - the guy immediately came over when he came in and said he was banned! Luckily it was his last run of the day and he was packing up, but it seems a bit harsh :(

Car's sorted (well, it started earlier :wack:), tyres are pumped up, and the support vehicle is full of juice. I've realised that we'll have to get up at about 4am to get there tomorrow, and that Tesco most likely will be shut so filling the mazda up with super might be interesting :(

Other than that, all's good, see ya tomorrow :)

I had a great day too, especially talking to Frisbee, SM and Yak without them knowing who I was ;)

As for the driving - great track :) I felt slightly outgunned though - even in the novice section I had one of the slowest straight line cars there (those DC5(?) teg's are blooming fast!)... Made up a bit on the corners though. As for the other sessions - just how many stripped out track prepared cars were there?? Radicals, single seaters, and the 3 Ginetta's that turned up in an Artic complete with tail lift, workshop and sleeping quarters

No probs - I guessed you were a bit knackered after talking to Yak, he said he was helping you fix your car until god knows when Sunday night :)
