Thanks to everyone for all the advice and help sourcing parts, it was much easier being a part of such a great club:sxoc:. I managed to find a whole front end up in London and talked the guy who bumped mine in to getting some nice vented wings from SRB:D He's picking the front end up saturday so should have the car back on the road in a couple of weeks.

Went round the other day to see how things were going with the front end, after talking to the guy who's doing the paint work the car is now getting virtually a complete spray job:D. He's got all the parts on and lined up now, now to take them off again for paint. Anyway here's a couple of grainy pics taken off a camera phone.

Thanks! Talked him round to a set of vented wings and he got a complete front end. It's with a body shop now. Hope to have it back this week.

Just let him know you have done him a favour buy allowing aftermarket parts to be used

And as a result he owes you a beer lol

One other thing though before accepting the car get a full suspension alignment check done (even if you have to pay for it) as this will ensure that the car will be perfect for her first outing and highlight any suspension damage as a result of the bump ;)

Was going to ask on here about somewhere in South Wales to take it for alignment. I heard someone talking about somewhere in Newport. I know the camber was set wrong before the accident as I have excessive wear on the inside of the N/S front wheel. I think he knows I did him a favour;) but as a result I managed to source parts that I wanted on the car not just replacement parts and quicker.

Yeah the place in Newport seems to come highly recommended by the majority of the welsh lads

I believe it's called Orchard motors !

There was a contact name and number for them in a post on here somewhere, a search for the name may reveal all :)

Thanks, will give him a call:thumbs: Do I need to tell him what settings the car should have or can he set it himself? I'm a bit clueless about this kind of stuff.

For Gods sake don't use Mototec in Pontllanfraith. They all need 10 gallon Hats and a set of Spurs to work in there. I will never take my car anywhere near them for alignment. If you search on Pistonheads in the Welsh section you will find many others have had similar experiences. Orchard motors are highly recomended. If that fussy git Paul takes his car there and is happy with them you can't say fairer than that.

Take the whiteline settings with you ;) tell him how you want it not how he wants to do it ;)

Paul has the settings

Quoted for truth.

Took mine in recently, when I went in all the wheels were running roughly -1°30' on the camber which was right on the edge of the spec.

They said the fronts wern't adjustable for camber but the rears were, adjusted one of the rears to -0°58' and then said the nut was too tight on the other rear and they couldn't get it off without damaging it. They'd been using a 12 sided socket to do this.

Those who've seen my other threads will know that my car has only been in the UK for about 3 weeks, and when it came over there wasn't a spec of rust anywhere so god help them if they ever have to do a UK S13 or something.

Anyway as a result of this the car actually drives worse than when it went in.

Going to try Orchard Motors after the bank holiday.

Edit: I can provide scans of the printouts from the alignment machine if you need proof of the accusations I'm making, however here's the numbers from it
Left Front Right |
Actual|Before| |Actual|Before| Specified Range
-1°34'|-1°40'| Camber |-1°24'|-1°16'| -1°40' - -0°10'
1°41'| 1°40'| Caster | 2°31'| 2°31'| 2°50' - 4°20'
0°04'|-0°07'| Toe | 0°02'|-0°05'| 0°00' - 0°05'

Rear
-1°31'|-1°39'| Camber |-0°58'|-1°23'| -1°40' - -0°10'

Thanks for the settings! Sounds like this could be money very well spent! Should've done this years ago, I've never really been happy with the handling.
