Sent my car to my local mechanic to have the turbo gaskets replaced, he phoned the following day to say it was ready then rang back 10 minutes later to tell me he had just taken it out for a run to make sure everything was ok when he lost control on the Brynmawr roundabout and damaged the front end:cry::cry::cry: Basically been trawling through the forum for the past couple of days trying to find parts with no luck at all. Wondering if any of you guys had any parts(standard or aftermarket) I could buy?

Wtf... you have to be a special kind of tard to spank someone elses car
He should be insured surely?
Is he not paying for the repair?
I am breaking an s14 mate so if you need anything give me a shout.
It looks like yours is a s14a from the picture?
I will have things like rads etc but exterior front panels wont be any good to you

Edit to say , thought you had an s13:o
Yes he is paying for all the repairs, but he priced everything up with nissan and with their prices it will be close to a write off. Basically he damaged the bonnet, front bumper, headlights and side lights, passenger wing and clear indicator lense. Luckily it is all panel damage but with labour and spraying the insurance company will see it as uneconomical to repair.

Firstly it wont affect your insurance as the garage will have it's own cover for taking cars out for test drives.
And in this instance a test drive was not a bad idea due to the nature of the work.
Anyway back to my initial reaction
WTF
Mate that's bad news.
I would leave him to it
Its not down to you to sort it all out for him
Also they owe you a straight car not one that has been written off.
If your car gets written off then they have to buy you a new one to replace it.
Chris what would the process be with your company should this happen ?

The car isn't at mine at the moment, he crashed it and took it back to his garage a few miles away. But i would still like some advise if you could spare a few minutes tomorrow.

Thought by sourcing parts myself would keep the repair bill down and maybe stop the car being written off:annoyed:

Yeah i can see your thinking
But it is not your fault
You drove a straight car in to the shop for work.
You should be driving a straight car out.
Not running about making their life easier.
If the car is written off then you will be able to get another straight car to replace the one you drove into the shop.
I it were mine i would be leaving it all to the garage to sort out
Ah that sucks:(
Of course we'll keep all our eyes peeled for parts you need but TBH as already mentioned you really want to leave it to the garage:nod:. Nightmare position here is 1,2,6 month down the road and nothings happened with it as he's waiting on you for the parts, even though its thier problem ,and not yours:( But then I think you'll of had enough of being told that by now:)
None of us want to see any 200 written off so as you mentioned 2nd hand and aftermarket parts definatly the way forward. Wider arches can be had new.
Talk to Owen and Zenki a Kouki, Proper head lights FTW:D
Has Richy200 sold his front end yet?
Get a price on a 15 conversion for the front, got to be cheaper than New OEM parts. I think its a little over 2k in parts Atm ,If he's paying and all;):D
If Chris makes it over he knows his Snit :nod:and if you are sure your gonna go that way with the garage, then he should be able to help you get a list of parts you'll need together for it which a post up in the wanted section on here should help.
Once again sorry to here it buddy, but the only front end parts I have are 14:(

equally it can only be written off if an insurance company writes it off. If somebody, say this garage, crashes it and fixes it, then at no time will it have been written off.
As previously mentioned however, you drove a straight car in there, you should be driving a bent repaired one out. Make sure they sort it to your satisfaction so you're happy with the car. :-)

Yes i was surprised that a Carbon boot lid from Charge-speed was far far cheaper than the Nissan OEM version !
Im sure an aftermarket FRP front bumper will also be cheaper than the Nissan item :)
I Hope that they have not damaged your inter-cooler tough ;)
What a wicked drive home I had Glenn :D From the canal bridge to Garn Llydan I only saw two cars , One was just aftert the t junction and only held me up for 100 yards , The other was a cupra type r having the same fun but in the opposite direction :D I'd hate to think what our closing speed was
I erven managed to top her out in 4th on the straight after the cattle grid :D
Hey Vidal , this road is top of my favourites above even cefn bryn
Everbody keep your eyes peeled for the parts needed especially the headlights to get this thoroughly decent fella back on the road
Yeah that is a cracking road:notworthy i have used it many times in the 200 even it it means taking longer to get home. Although it has caught alot of people out (me once). Did you notice the mess on the top road half way to Garn Llydan where a car went off this morning, I got called up there about 10:30 found the car empty and the driver had done a runner.:down: Looked like it had rolled a couple of times at least.

By now you should understand why my tyres do what they do :D;)l

Fair play, cars are built to be driven and that is every drivers dream road. If you are ever down this way I can promise you a warm welcome in the Swan and a few beers for your troubles.
