just wondering, i take it if u have a a TV & Radio card you ccan record straight to hard drive? in which case i assume you can do same to CD's. have any of you had any experince in doing this?
Yeah you can.
You could record either line-in with a 3.5mm jack from a suitable source or ripping the CD to the HDD using a suitable program. What exactly do you need to do?

Think he means recording TV to hd instead of using a vcr to do it?
If so yes you can, but you need software which'll do it and I can't think of any off the top of my head , try this (www.tv-cards.com) site.
yeah what i mean is using like... haupage tv card watch tv on the computer, and recording it to CD. like recording Mad Max from tv on to CD(s) or wud i have to do it to HDD then brun it?

As long as you have a fast enough pc to encode it to divx/whatever on the fly, it is possible but it's prolly better to record to hd, then encode and burn because then you can do other stuff while its recording and not worry about slowing the encoder down.

Do a search for PC-VCR Software... It used to come with Miro and some other TV Cards we used to sell... Aparently it worked well but took up MAJOR Rescources and HDD Space... You can compress to mpeg and divx with the new version too i think... ;)

Try this
Replicant 2 (http://www.replicant2.com/?aid=031953&bid=2965)
Also copies DVD's to CD-R without a DVD Burner
I Might have some software (Power-VCRII) That might help *cough*
