CA18DE Problem

Mate of mine has just been to look at a Sunny ZX Coupe (CA18DE engined).

He said that it ran bautifully apart from a slow/lumpy idle, accompanied by a hissing noise. What do we think, vacuum pipe off/split?

Any other ideas? :)

Any thoughts very much appreciated as my mate is going back to test drive it later and would like to know if it's a hose off or something more serious before he buys it.

Does just sounds like an air leak in the air feed after the AFM.

Check breathers, vacuum hoses, air supply pipes, check for loose jubilee clips etc.

Could be a gasket on the intake manifold/plenum.

Cheers Jezz, didn't think of inlet manifold gaskets. I'll let him know :)
