Urgent IT help required

Hi guys I have an internet connection problem.

My browser allows me full access to sxoc.com and the bulletin board, but I CANNOT connect to ANY other website


Any idea whats going on?

fluch your dns cache
If you are using WinNT, 200 or xp, start>run, type cmd, then type ipconfig /flushdns
If that dont work, then your DNS servers are probably wrong.
Type ipconfig /renew
either that or your ISP's DNS servers are down, and your dns cache still has SXOC.com in it.

seems to have done the trick!

Just wondering though, is there anything that might not work or need re-doing in some way after using this fix?

Nah nothing mate. Assuming your connection is working ok then it will just resolve all the names afresh, so maybe a 1/2 second wait to get to each website the first time but other than that, shouldnt be any :)

Oo may be thats a fix for my DNS problems i tent to get at work after starting to use a pooter with XP on it!

no, you don't get ipconfig on Win98. Buggered if I can remember how to do it (if you even have to) though!
