View Full Version : A minutes silence pls
Tonnie has wrote off his newly painted newly rapid 200.
From the text it seems he got a bit sideways and smacked a lamp post, has broken his arm and 3 places and the roof had to be cut off.
Oh and tpft insurance too:( :(
 :( :(
Gutted, sounds nasty - was he the only one in the car?
Get well soon Tonnie :)

Hey guys, thanks for all the replies.
Got back from the hospital and my arm should be better in 6 weeks. Got some stitches in my mouth and thats about it.
Cars a rite off, went today to have a look and the back has totally smashed in (hit lamp post) Only me in the car, thankfully.
Puts life into perspective. I was very lucky to get away the way I was.
Dont know how I lost it, put foot down in 3rd gear on a straight and the car went sidyways, then lost it.
Going tomorrow with my mates to salvage most parts.
Thanks for all the replies guys and take it easy on those wet roads, even straights!

everyones been well good to me, you guys have made me feel a lot better.
Life goes on and I'm glad to have survived.
If I hit the lamp post from any other side I would have been a gonner.
The force was so much that the back of my seat broke and I was flung to the back, front or side smash isnt worth thinking about
The lamp post has come so far in that it must have been a couple of inches from touching my back seats
THANKS A LOT GUYS
Enjoy life and dont boot it in the rain, especially all you guys with t28's
Cheers boys
Tonnie
Hope your on the mend quick. Sorry to hear about the car. Keep your chin up - live to fight another day!
Ah well, maybe you can get another one soon. Ive spun out at only 20 mph in the wet as well... Easy done in the wet.
Take care out there! Good that your ok and no one else injured.

There was another big crash on the same road last nite. Something is up with that road.Is there any advice you guys can give to a solicitor or a firm that deals with this kind of stuff, as I think I may have a good case.

tonnie - are you comp insured?
Its a long shot mate, but if you are claiming for your own car - and you tell the insurers that the road in question was to blame - they MAY wish to send an independent surveyor around to find out the root of the problem and, if there is something wrong, they will want to make a recovery against local council or whoevers fault it may be.
As i say, long shot, but? possibly maybe

What do you guys think of a porsche 944
lowered, black, 17'' cup alloys. sweeeeet
Not into ridicelous amounts of speed anymore. Just something people will notice. I know they will never be as fast as my 200, but hhey. Its still a 2.5l
Need to wait another year, so I can save up.

sounds like you are on the rebound! you came back to a 200 last time! what is it you want:
speed?
good looks?
modifyable?
coupe/4 door?
turbo/na?
etc?
then see what car matches what you want...
or am I being too logical?
how's the arm holding up? my two boys say hi! any luck with finding out what was wrong with the road?
Ahhh it all makes sense now, the other thread "Should I buy another 200". Sorry to hear that Tonnie! Hope you're OK now.
