View Full Version : help with List of motor racing venues in UK and Ireland

i'm vompiling a list of every motor racing venue in the UK and Ireland, this i for every place that is not on public roads (unless colsed for the event, IE rally) from a full circuit to a patch of conctete used for drifting, and everythnig in between (banger racing curcits etc) doesnt matter if its F1, Saloon, Kart, mini moto, for public track days, etc


this is the list i have so far, but there is 100's of local tracks/venues that i cant find or dont know about, so i ask for your help in letting me know the names of the venues, and if possible a website or address/contact info, but a name shuold be fine

even if the place is closed, ie aintree i beleive is closed

aintree is still opemn for trackdays and sprints. MSA Blue Book has a very comprehensive circuit, sprint venue and hillclimb venue listing if it helps?

How about putting the list in AB order so people can check easy.

Aintree is definetly open, I live about 10 miles away and go spectatcing with the little one a few times a year.

It's part of the old F1 course, and runs through a golf course, so is only open so many days a year for motorsport, as it's obviously a little dangerous to combine the two activities!! :)

Hednesford Hills Raceway - They have Banger racing and Legends an stuff like that. Also there's Long Eaton Stadium, they did bangers too but theyre closed now an there's also Darley Moore, thats a bike only track.

in ireland there is

Mondello Park, Naas, Co. Kildare (race circuit)
Nutts Corner, Belfast (oval and a now closed circuit)

Both of these are dotted on the map

Also there is

Tipperary Speedway, Rosegreen, Co. Tipperary (oval and spiritual home of irish drifting!)
Bishopscourt, Co. Down (2 here, a circuit and also an old airstrip where the UDC is run)
Watergrasshill, Co. Cork. (karting and drifting track)
Stonedrift, Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny (patch of concrete used for drifting)

also a few karting tracks that i cant think of the names of but based in portumna, co. galway& santry, co. dublin
