built a few nice cars in their time they are traders on sj-cc.net and i belive they may just use swflocking for all their work but could be wrong?

suppose so, but have these people checked the work or just assumed it was ok because a "professional company" did it? the work i have seen from them i could hand my missus a soldering iron, verbally explain it to her and she could do a better job... i'm not saying they do it all the time, just maybe the "new guy" did the ones ive seen, either that or their technician seriously needs a soldering course..... just check what you have done i suppose....

two pins werent soldered properly, the running problems i had was that you would be driving along and loose all engine power. seem a bit overpriced to me also, they wanted 200pound labour to change my supplied nissan gaskets. rip off in my opinion

lol, you didnt notice that the chip wasnt even inserted into the board either then? and that every pin was solder bridged to the board? did i forget to show you that bit??

This is the first we have heard about this. From memory this was about a year ago?? If we made a mistake why did you not contact us????
We have a very good customer relationship and many good feedbacks (please have a look at SW-PC, Tatsu, SJ-CC, MLR to name but a few)
If you had a problem and came back to us we would have happily looked in to it for you and put things right IF we had made a mistake.
As for the quote. From memory this was for a exhaust manifold gasket??? If so you were told that worse case if studs broke which is very common when doing this sort of thing you could be looking at about £200, again this is from memory as was so long ago.
Dont worry Kelv, Just some keyboard warriors here. Too afraid to actually say if they have a problem face to face and would rather jump on an internet board and slate a well known company.
Not good imo, Puts bad word of mouth around when there's no need for it. This chap clearly sounds like a 'Pro' having to correct the work himself an all. He should of done the work then if he's so confident ¬_¬'

have i done a gasket change lmao ive done about 4 of them on my old s13, numerous different turbo set ups, i have done nearly everything on my old s13. if the weather was warm and i had the time after work to of done the gasket change myself i would of. i even got quoted by nissan to do the gasket change and they said 140pound all in if i supplied the gaskets. also the chip was only in the car for a few days and caused major running problems ie cutting out. joe (iceblade) had to sort the mess out, he unsoldered the chip and put a new socket in the ecu to make sure it had a good connection. there was no point in me bringing it back to you when he already sorted it out was there?

i had the chip soldered by them because i know i couldnt do it, iceblade used to be an electronics engineer and i got him to take a look at and was shocked in what he saw, the car was running like crap and cutting out.

now now girls, calm down & don't get personal.
more importantly punctuate!:D
All companies have good and bad references, lets keep it at that.
Consider this the pre-lock down warning:thumbs:

Lol someone obviously needs to learn to read, i corrected the work for a mate:D and yes when it comes to soldering I am a "pro", did it in college, and did it for a living for a few years...
If it was my ecu I would have been straight back there complaining, but the guy who owned the ecu was having problems and thought it was mechanical, or leaks then after a while i said let me look at the ecu..... and you know the rest....
As i have previously mentioned im not trying to cause trouble, i am mearly pointing out that companies make mistakes, and beleive that all work undertaken is worth inspecting, ive worked in the industry long enough to know that people cut corners and this seems to be one of those times.....
