Don't give up mate, Dave_S can testify to that!
Yeah, thats exactly what I thought and waited for ages and then all of a sudden, bam, Tesco come along with a wicked quote (comparatively) and now Im sorted :)
As Nismo says, don't give up!!
Deathstar: That sounds lovely :D what car was that on?
Dave
my first car and my only car lol
Dolomite Sprint 16v
dont go bad for a 29 year old motor :D
Fuel injection is all well and good but you can't beat the induction noise from 45's :D

Triumph Dolomite Sprint hmmmmm, Fan-bloody-tastic motor that :D . My Dad bought one when I was about 6 years old; British racing green with the 'fancy' steel rims ;), loved it to bits 'till a daft bint drove into the side of it when she decided to take an earlier exit off a roundabout   .... wrote the car off :( .
T'was a damn quick motor (well for a six year old it felt like a Ferrari ;) ) and my Dad used to see off all sorts in it.
Got any pic's Deathstar? I'd love to see one again.
Cheers,
Jonny
yeah i have one my car is also green but at the mo the engine bay ect is in primer and so are the frount wings when i took the video it was before i had new wings put on it so had the zorst ect put on incase you wondered as a old dear drove into the side of it when my mum was driving it
here ya go before the accident will look the same when i get it back in a week :)

WOW! :D She's a beauty.
What a blast from the past mate, thought I was lookin at my Dad old mota for a sec there :D :) :D ! Are those the original rims on it? Can't quite see them but they look how I remember.
And yeah, it's weird how silly old bints seem to be 'tractor-beamed' into the side of them. IIRC the old bugger who hit us was driving an Austin Maxi :p , it was 20-odd years ago tho'!
Hope you get a 2***** soon mate but whatever you do don't let the Dolomite go, it's a classic ;) (and probably the last decent motor Triumph built).
Cheers,
Jonny
i wont be getting rid of it for sure i dont think i could bring myself to sell it would most prolly have a brakedown (me not the car :p )
i put it in a garage and take it out in the summer if i do keep it
you know that feeling though where you morn a cars "passing" when you sell it
the wheels are the origanal triumph item like your dads car
insurance.... aye there's the rub.
Tescos prices have rocketed recently... but I got a bunch of quotes the other week (I'll be 26 with 5 years no claims) and the prices range from £630 (Insure Shop) to a staggering £3,500 (cant remember who, someone on the confused.com search).
Tescos are quite expensive now, I think they came in at about £1,200...
keep looking, you may get a pleasant surprise... tho Im sure I should be talking on another forum ;)
