Both myself and Caleni have S14 T28s. These are (according to Pete at SE) better suited to the S13 coz the GtiR turbo has a bigger AR ratio. Not competely sure what this means but in practice the N14 turbo is laggier. I think this is because the GtiR being a rally bred car all the power is at the top end of the rev range, while the S14, being a tourer/ sports coupe has a smoother boost delivery.
But anyway, the S14 turbo on my car has practically no boost drop (max 1psi, running at 15psi) right round to 7500rpm.
Anyone please correct me if I'm talking sh!t.

getting my T28 tomorrow
i went for a ride in SteveC's motor. and that has just convinced me to spend more money and get a T28.
Just cant justify paying SE for that fitting kit. So I'm gonna fabricate one and have a go at fitting myself.

As soon as anyone finds a source for S14 T28's let me know cos mines getting ready for a upgrade.
Ive just been offered a T3 Hybrid for £200 and my old T3 on exchange http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/eek.gif

It'll make your car go faster.
Is that enough justification yet?
The fella selling it is my mate who does all the mods to my car, and I was having a chat about it with him. Apparently the big advantage of a hybrid is that they can hold more boost. OK they spin up quicker, but its not really that noticable. The current T3 on the car is capable of holding way more boost than the engine can take, so I cant really see the point, still, should the turbo cack it, I know where to go.

StuyMac,
Which car / motor displacement did you get your T3 from ?
any specs on it ? Sounds like you are happy with it's performance
what's the road perormance like ?
Is the hybrid on your mates car a T3/4 ? Sounds like a quick spooling turbo with top end... just how ya like it.
is it a ca18det ?
The car Ive got is the S13, so you, the motor is a ca18det. The T3 fitted came from a Sierra Saphire Cosworth (RWD)(2000cc). The only problem with the T3 is the off boost performance, with full boost not being reached till about 4250rpm. However, wind the revs up, and boy does it go, holds the boost all the way through the rev range with no drop off http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif
The Turbo I got offered was also off a cosworth, but a later 4x4 (compressor housing was slightly bigger, I think), its also been hybridised not that long ago.
