View Full Version : K12 Micra problem after only 2500 miles...
Last couple of days, when accellerating right up through the revs (I drive an automatic 1.2 btw.) at first I noticed a little red flash on my dash.. but it was such a quick warning that I didn't have time to see what symbol it actually was..
Well, last night.. it stayed on for a while, well, long enough for me to see what it was..
Battery symbol :o
Which I'm led to believe, when appearing under load, is usually linked to an alternator problem, or something similar?
Any thoughts? Am going to pop into my local dealer later today and seek their advice.
The car has done circa 2500 miles, now. :(
Surely it's under warranty tho mate? :)
You've been ranting it too hard, haven't you ;)
My mate's 205 GTi did (and is still doing) exactly the same thing. We thought the same as you. So we replaced the alternator, the battery, and checked all the wiring. It's been doing it for months and the car goes fine. So we've concluded it must be a wiring problem behind the dash that's causing the light to come on. Bloody french cars
Prolly is alternator if it's under load mate :(
Ho-hum, new cars eh
Dave
Yep, will be under warranty.
Am g'na tell them I don't want it, and ask for a red one instead. Saw a red one during the week and it looks so much cooler than black :D

In mine either the drivers leccy window or the clock worked, but never both at the same time
I can't see how the two could possibly have been related though
S'going in on Monday for the Nissan monkee's to have a swing from the wingmirrors. :)

my passenger side electric window used to get stuck when it was down, but only on hot days. i took the whole damn door apart to try and find the problem and there was nothing i could see
if im ever rich enough to run both my 200 and a 205 GTi id def. have another one :)

Yeah me too - two of my mates still have one and I love 'em :D
Although I've been thinking recently that I'd also like to have a 309 GTI - apparently they handle just as well, but they're much more exclusive, and I like the way they look :)
My apologies for the thread hijacking D :o
So D, Micra's eh
Hopefully everything will be sorted mate :)

yeah, sorry D :o
if i ever have another one its gonna be either white (same as my old one ) or miami blue 1.9 and maybe full leather interior  . a lad who lives next door to my g/f has a blue 1.6 and it looks gorgeous, i dont think the 205 GTi has dated at all, yet the non-gti ones look crap :p
the 309 Gti was about as quick as the 1.6, i did think about getting one for a bit, but i couldnt find a decent blue 3 door so i went for the 205 Gti instead :)
good luck sorting your micra D :)

Yeah, that's the only problem. I'm planning to Mi16 convert mine if I do get one ;) :D

naturally ;) :D :D
I killed the alternator on my old Strada while over reving it on the motorway out of bradford. But the light just stayed on after I missed my gear change
I wander if the belt is slipping at high revs.... ?
friend of mine had a MK2 golf, when he switched the wipers on the radio would turn on, didn't turn off when he turned the wipers off though. Strange:confused:    :D :D
