hi jez, i have just bought a sr20 with engine loom and ecu from a 180sx, i was hoping to run stage 3a but is any way of telling if the ecu has already been tampered with by looking at it ?

Take the covers off the ECU and see if theres a board with Horsham Developments on it :)

i have it open and there seems to be a smaller board over the top with two chips on it, these have two wee jap lookin stickers on them. is there anyting you can do with this ecu like chipping it to stage 3a or what ? :)

We would have to remove that and fit our own ECU upgrade.

right, i've been fighting with his loom and chasing it around the garage, do you know if the uk s14a loom fits a red top ? and what ecu i need to use ? i need this sorted asap please.

I'm not sure if a uk loom would fit a red top - I'd expect that the plugs etc would fit. You'd need the ECU that matches your loom. If you have to use an S14a loom you'll need all the NATS stuff too.

im for working at this today so if i get it goin it will be on the 14a ecu i have. can you map it to stage 3a ? does your stage 3a change with bigger pistons and tomei256 cams ?

Yes, yes and yes - but check the fuelling and make sure its not detting.
