Didn't really think it needed a write up as it's so similar to the S14 guide, but the basics are -

Passenger footwell is where the Engine ECU is. This is where the injector wires are cut and the crimps soldered in.

Pin 101 White/Black wire - RLTC Injector wires (Doesn't seem to matter which colours - )
Pin 103 Green/Black wire - (just make sure that they connect to the same colour)
Pin 110 Yellow/Black wire - (on the opposite side of the connector :wack: )
Pin 112 Blue/Black wire

Pin 7 Yellow/Red wire - Tacho wire (RLTC)
Pin 45 Black/Red wire - 12v feed (RLTC)
Chassis - Ground wire(RLTC)

You only need to cut the 4 injector wires. The other wires, just strip back some of the insulation and wrap the connecting wire around the exposed core then solder. Also, make sure that the RLTC injector harness with the plain wires goes to the ECU side wires, and the RLTC harness with the striped wires goes to the injector side.

Behind the Drivers-side rear card is the ABS ECU. Remove the bottom of the rear seat and remove the bracket going into the seat back - I left the back in place, but it's probably worth undoing the other side and removing completely :wack: .

Pin 11 Orange/Blue wire (OSFront) - Blue (RLTC)
Pin 6 White wire (NSFront) - Red (RLTC)
Pin 7 Yellow/Green wire (Rear) - Yellow & Green (RLTC)

Again, don't cut the wires, just strip them and wrap the connecting wire around the exposed core then solder.

3 cables should be left - LED cable, Serial connector cable and the adjuster cable. These all go under the glovebox and out under the flappy cubby hole. This is where I mounted my controller. but I cut my flappy box so that the controller would fit flush onto it.

I haven't worked out the settings yet, but I'll post them up if/when I get them sorted :wack: .

Edit - Right. I've installed RLTC on an S14, S14A and S15 with an RB30 conversion, all worked first time, but my S13 one never worked properly, so today I decided to check why my N/S sensor never gave a reading through the RLTC.....

Now, when I wrote the S13 guide I checked the Workshop manual and used the sensor wires that weren't earthed, but either the wiring diagram is wrong or my sensor is as the White wire I swapped to worked and gave a signal. The Guide is now edited and a big sorry for anyone who's followed it and found out their N/S ABS sensor not giving a signal :( .

Ok, here's a stupid question, but it's better to ask than to destroy the wiring :)

Q: With some wires you say to "strip the wires and wrap the connecting wire around the exposed core then solder"... so what is the best way to strip a wire from the middle? I take it that you have a wire like this:

================

and now you need to make the connection like this:

.........|
.........|
====---=========

= is the Nissan ECU/ABS wiring with the rubber insulation still intact
- is the Nissan ECU/ABS stripped metal wire that is connected to the RLTC wire
| is the RLTC stripped metal wire that is connected to the Nissan ECU/ABS wire
(IGNORE THE STOPS "." I had to insert them in order to format the above crappy "picture")

So how do you strip an electric wire from the middle? I would probably just start shaving the insulation away with a small hobby knife but I'm pretty sure I will break a wire or two trying ;)

To be honest, I didn't remove any insulation. I used the wire strippers on my Leatherman and just slid the insulation back up the wire by 2-3mm on each side, then wrapped the joining wire around the exposed cable. Doesn't really matter if you break a couple of strands of the exposed cable as you're going to encase the lot in solder :thumbs: .

just incase anyone didnt spot it, Bren is running a group buy on RLTCs :)

Whats that got to do with an s13 installation guide....

I'd just like to point out for anyone installing rltc into an s13 that the rltc ecu fits in a hollowed out autobox controller :
