View Full Version : DWYB at Santa Pod on the 31st anyone?
just wondering who's going to this as it'd be nice to have a chat to some others and get any tips and advise i can :sxoc:
i'll be there in my black s14.5, 'mr chris' in his mainly red 14a, a mate in a dark blue rx7 and another mate in a white 325. possibly 1 or 2 more pending car situations.
so whos going to be there?

I'll be there, in a battered S14a and kev in my S12 with welded diff..
fingers crossed i'll actually have straightened the front end of my 14a out, but chances are I wont..
Y plate Red S14a, and the S12 towed behind the Rarerims van.
Jamie from Bristol (purple S14a)is also going..

We have one guy that drives BDC too, always willing to give advice/passenger rides :)
im hoping to go once a month from now on whether it be on a wednesday or saturday. got shed loads of seat time when i went on the wednesday in december so if its too busy saturday i'll be sticking to wednesdays

The standard on Wednesdays is generally better as well, so theres a lot more seat time to be had all round. It also means people knacker their tyres by 3pm, so the last hour can be quite mental :D

there is tyre changing but last I saw it was fully booked could always head up and see if there any pay at the gate, depends how far it is to travel I supose.
think they usually keep ten places spare to pay on the day. its £60 per driver tho, not bad really. tyre changing is a fiver and you can buy rubber there aswell for £5 upwards.
there should be a decent omount of sx's there :D

Yep. Looked like about one car in five even.
Was good fun. Many cones died! (Sadly so did many bits of car - I think I got away lightly only losing my washer bottle :eek:)

loved it, anyone got ant decent pics? not looked on dw's yet.
turbo gaskets died on mine,drove 2 hours home sounding like a tractor.
think docwra came off worst today, i cringed when that skyline hit him

Still buzzing now from a great day. If there was one today I would be there like a shot :)
Went to watch with my brother. It was a real laugh of a day, had a lot of fun being drifted in some cars. Got to PMSL watching my brother trying to to a lap with his 1986 Chaser that could not skid for sh*t LOL!
I saw that Chaser and wondered if it would work - seems not :D
Yeah, good day indeed, even if I did collect a Skyline fairly early on - the pain was dissapated by the fact it was all on tape from the passenger seat though - comedy video :D
Also lost some chunks of overfender to a huge delamination and the car is a bit down on power but its in the game innit :D
Nice to see a few SXOC faces up there along with a lot of other n00bs - drifting is getting bigger all the time :D

Had a good morning, then my tie rod broke:wack: Big thankyou to the bloke who got my car to outside the pod, cheers, to all who stopped and asked if i needed assistance/was ok whilst i waited for the RAC. Ordered Tien rods/ends, so will be back at the Pod faster and stronger:D
Makes parking easy too :D

I only skidded the cab once - its the missuses car and she took some talking into it. Prioper cringing she was as we went out :D
Make sure you come say hello next time - Im in the S13 that started white but that is slowly getting brown/grey/black.:D
