I've just booked myself into a trackday at brands hatch on wednesday 28th January. It's an open pit day, so anyone can come with their car and use the track as much as they like throughout the day.
It is costing £139 for the day, noise levels are 105db and you will need a helmet, but these can be hired out for £10.
I am going with a work associate who has just bought a new caterham r500 and a mate of mine who has a rather nice Integra Type R.
it would be great to see some other 200s there on the day!
Any tips or advice for my first track day?

Is it the first time you've been on track at all before?
Just take it VERY easy, build up the confidence slowly. And watch out for Paddock Hill. Off camber, swooping down hill right hander at end of main straight. Too fast into there sideways into the gravel, and you'll be on your roof eating stone chips
I've only had 20 mins round Brands, but it was awesome  will do a full day there one day.
Ooo nice one i might be down there, some of the old pug club i was with are gonna be there so invited me down.
Only thing id say about brans has already been mentioned. That 1st corner on your 2nd lap is bloody nasty if you'v not taken it before, its where most people bin it.

i'll be sure to take it easy :)

if you can afford to have an instructor with you for a session they are well worth the money they show you the best way around the track and your driving will greatly improve.
I was due to do one in my teg on the 10th but it was cancelled because the circuit was frozen :wack:
Hope the weather's a bit better for you mate :)

a mate of mine is come along in a teg next week, you may know him from the teg forums? hugo boss will probably be his name on there
my other mate who is coming with the caterham has hired a mechanic to tune up the car and a pro-racing driver for the day so i'm sure i'll make use of both of them whilst there :)
Yeah I've seen him whilst frequenting over there
If I can get away from my auditing in Chelmsford early enough I may pop over

Depends on how it runs, like I say I'm supposed to be auditing - but usually that just involves getting drunk :wack:

Arry, no excuses mate, take the day off as holiday and come join the fun. Think i've roped another mate in a porsche 996 to come along too. Would be great if you could make it, i'm still yet to thank you in person for all the help you've given me when i fixed up my s13 :)
if you come along i'll buy you a burger for lunch!! Surely that will seal the deal !!!
LOL :D
Cheers for the offer mate, if I can make it down there I will do - but no chance of booking hol as I'm pre-booked in for this audit and it's not that easy to delegate it out to another member of the team :(
Read the trackday guide at the beginning of the thread area, makes a lot of sense.
Done brands a couple of times and it rocks. Instructors are very good there and can make your day a lot nicer. If people play by the rules then you'll have a great day.
Take it easy, dont go BANZAI on your second lap, as paddock has claimed many, many victims of confidence!
If i can shift swap i migh womble over with the camera...:)
