Its a 1996 RS FOUR which as you can see has the RB25DET from a gts-t (iirc) thats pumping out around 230-240bhp depending on who you listen to.

This thing is as clean as any used car i have ever seen, the sills are spotless as is the rest of the underside of the car.

These are a few pics of the worst points

Unfortunately the mods started before i had even got the car home :wack:

I got hold of a couple of things off the options list - a load area cover and a dog net. On top of this literally 10 mins ago i had these dropped off, they have 2 good Bridgestones and 2 fubar'd Falken FK451's (been a long time since i have seen any of these) all for £285 delivered :D

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c100/califunky/NewWheels002.jpg

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c100/califunky/NewWheels001-1.jpg

As this is going to be my daily driver i dont have to much planned but there are plans - lowering springs, exhaust, filter, fuel pump, plugs, decat, boost controller, some pimp rims (when these are dead), i'd like to see 300bhp which shouldnt take much at all really.

Thankfully/luckily i am now in a position to be able to run this and keep my beemer project running too. Economy wise i managed 160ish miles home from Mitch's on 1/2 tank (about £25) which will be ok

Loving the torque :D

And the way it gets up and goes for a big car really surprised me

I really like this car, if I hadn't already got a new car on a boat I probably would've bought it.

Only real problem is the seats. The seats look like an old granny's wallpaper

Are you going to get a seat cover made of little wooden balls? ;)

Sorry, I'll stop taking the p1ss now.

Edit: Would be worth it if you wanted to build a sleeper though.

The first mods

I ordered these before i had even picked the car up - looad cover and dog/safety net
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c100/califunky/NewWheels006.jpg

Next i brought myself a decent set of R33 GTR rims, today i went anf got 2 of the tyres changed and them fitted

Much better i think. I have my eye on a well priced set of Sustech Pro coilies to sort out the tractor like ride height :D

I've thought about it - thera are a couple of fields opposite the house with level access from the road, its been hard not to go and be a proper hooligan before they fill them with useless food stuffs

Lowering is hign on the agenda  as is a trip to Hayward and Scott seeing as they are only round the corner :D

I was tempted as well and I'll have one at some point but i'd have to make some major changes if and when I get one lol, manual and rear drive only would be my plans :D

I would love to do that but the kits are extortionately expensive and i cant seem to find any evidence to suggest that the makers are in business any more or not.

I like this kit - gtr oc chairmans ride

just quickly calculated my mpg for the first full tank of driving

i filled up with 59litres (12.97 gallons) of V Power @ £4.134155744 gallon (£53.62 total)

I got 390km (242.35m) from the tank

That all equates to a cost of £0.221250258 per miles which = 18.68542791mpg :yikes: need to calm the action on the loud pedal a little i think.

I still think any decent bodyshop could work the magic required if you supplied R34 wings, lights, bonnet and bumper

Would prob work out cheaper than the £3.5k that company used to charge for the kit too depending on how cheap you could get the panels. Would look awesome... ;)

Unless your lucky - you'l pay around a grand just for the R34 headlights alone! The whole lot for £3.5k will be pushing it!

Now that REALLY is a Skyline tax :D I like it as it is, there will be far more people who don't know what it is without the R34 front end.

If it were mine it wouldn't get a kit either but then it would get a towbar!!
How about the autec kit? Needs bigger wheels than these or lowered suspension though...

Hoping to find blown tubby gaskets when I investigate tomorrow, and a new decent exhaust will be on the cards soon too as the current one isn't great and way too loud/boomy at mway speeds :whip:

I am on a pic whore mission today seeing as i am "sick" and not at work

This is the stagea the massiv turbo and shiny engine are going in. Its got fibreglass wide arches on the front and the rear has had an amazing pull job that suits really nicely (thanks to Daz for the pics again)

Parked up on a mates drive sunday and noticed the passenger wheel was tucked into the arch a little further than normal due to a bump. Jumped back in to see if the tyre was scrubbing on lock and it wasnt - obviously i couldnt see if there was scrubbing while out on the move but i like the way it looks and think i mat have to lower it a little this weekend :D

Never :wack:

No, its not wound down yet as i have had to drop it back into the garage - 4 of the 6 mani studs were snapped so they have all now been replaced. Picking it up tomorrow. If i get time between seeing my old man and getting absolutely paraletic i might get round to finishing my install and dropping the b1tch a bit further :D

It seems the braided lines fitted when the gtr brake set up was fitted wasnt secured and has been hanging down and getting pinched when turning. The drivers side line finally wore through and popped and burst this afternoon, luckily just as i was parking up but it has obviously left me with no brakes :(

Now i have got to order a new set of braided lines and get it done as quickly as possible because i currently cant get to work :annoyed:

Dont know. A lot of insurers that specialise in this sort of thing are asking for previous experience of a car/power level similar to what you are trying to insure. My stage 1 14a was an equivalent power level. Flux dont mirror other policies ncb but they have based the policy on the 7yrs nc built up previously and currently on my beemer iirc

from that pic of it parked on the bump, i.e how low you're gonna take it, the camber of the wheel looks to have changed slightly, so i imagine when you do slam it, it'll have some serious camber either just on the front, or both front and rear. maybe look into some camber bolts/camber arms if you are going to take it down, thats if it doesnt already have the ability to adjust that stuff as standard. if the tanabe's dont have camber adjustment then you should be able to bolt on some normal camber-adjustable top mounts from any other manufacturer, should be some cheap ones on ebay.

other than that, it looks tidy mate. im seriously considering getting myself a skyline, probably an r32 or r33 gtr.

MEL
28-06-2009, 17:14
Gizzmo is now fitted and the setup is almost right, a couple more attempts to sort the duty and gain settings and it will be bang on. Bossting at .75bar with the scramble being set to .85 :D

MEL
21-07-2009, 08:09
Been fiddling with the Gizzmo and have turned off the scramble feature and am now just running 0.83bar

My adjustable Whiteline arb's finally arrived in the country the friday of the Weekender which was a pain as i was hoping that seeing as i had paid for them about 9 weeks earlier they would have been fitted by then.

To be fitted
Whiteline ARB's
R33 GTR fuel pump
Dayz sideskirts
Apexi SAFC II

Dal will be wiring in the SAFC and fitting the arb's for me as tbh seeing the trouble Del had with his i cant be arsed. Gonna drop the pump in while i am there seeing as its a 20min job and hopefully collar Pablo to help me sort the skirts.

Gearbox has been replaced, gearbox and diff fluids have been replaced. Front cv boots changed and my boost controller plumbed in correctly so its not working off the actuator and it feels amazing.

Gearbox feels a lot tighter than the old one - revs drop quicker on gear change - they dont hang, gear change is much slicker and feels quicker.

Big :notworthy:notworthy:notworthy to Pablo for driving all the way back from Bournemouth to pick me up in Wanstead (where i work) and then drive me all the way to Ninfield (near Battle) to pick up my car
