Just had this email from the JAE organisers, thought you lot might like to see it....
"JAE 2003 APRIL NEWSLETTER
Dear Club Organiser,
To bring you all up to date on the situation of this years event all the club plots are almost fully booked and there is only 4 plots left unallocated. The clubs that have booked plots are listed on the events main website http://www.jae.org.uk
All the booked in clubs should have received invoices and the vast majority of the clubs have sent in their payment. Could the organiser of any clubs who has not paid to date please send their payment as soon as possible.
Many people have expressed that they would like to see some inter-club competitions and Sumo Power have agreed to let us use their sumo wrestling ring for some form of knockout competition but we need a volunteer to organise this. If you club could help on this please let us know. We would also like to have an inter-club tug of war competition but again we need a club to organise this together with turning up with a rope.
There have also been various requests for some sort of treasure hunt but need suggestions on what sort of format it should take? My thoughts are if it were an individual event it would be a nightmare to organise. Maybe it would be a better idea to have each club act as a team and then there would only be 50 sets of answers to check out and I think each club should set a question about their club. Then people would have to visit each club to get the answer. Any club fancy organises this.
We are waiting on a letter from Billing to confirm that we can use a two-day radio station at the event and once this is received we can apply for the various licences that are required.
A site survey and meeting has been held at Billing to iron out the area for the firework display and we are pleased to inform you all that for the first time Billing has donated £500 toward the display.
With regards to traders to date some 30 have booked in already and the list is posted on the forum, in the ANNOUNCEMENTS SECTION, and is updated regularly. Could you have a look at this and if you know of any traders that you think might like to attend could you post up their contact details including a phone number.
With regards to the forum it seems to have gone very quite recently remember the event is put on by volunteers and we need all the help and input that you can give.
Some people may not be aware that there is a main JAE2003 Website that can be viewed at our homepage http://www.jae.org.uk"
So does anyone want to help out with a rope :) or help with the organising of the treasure hunt or Sumo wrestling? On that note, who wants to volunteer to be the SXOC sumo wrestler? Brens the biggest chap Ive met on here, he gets my vote. Just hope he doesnt have to wear the Sumo thing.:D
