View Full Version : SR20DET AFM on the CA18DET
Hi all,
Has any one had any success in changing the AFM yet?
I have the casting and sensor off an s14 sr20det but the wiring is different.
If anyone has the wiring diags for either sensors I would appreciate it. Thanks

I'd have thought that with Nissans "parts bin" being the way it is, its probably the same as a Z32 300zx TT AFM.
If you read the other threads someone has said you can fit this for more air, but it makes for lean mixture - add bigger injectors and it runs rich. Then gt a pukka AFR (air/fuel mixture controller) and set it up to run sweet.
I'd probably agree with that theory. You cant run a bigger AFM without compensating for it elsewhere.

guys,
you can fit the 300zx maf but the ECU gets a little confused with the leaner mixture.
The other trick is to go for the AFM off the KA24E engine. (2.4 single overhead cam engine)
You find this is most Nissan pickups.
the S13 AFM is around35/40mm in diameter,.
the KA one is 55mm
just take the little black unit off and replace it on the slightly larger housing.
This mod works fine. ECU copes.
I have awiring diagram somewhere for the 300zx MAF but its going from an SR20DET - 300 MAf, not the CA lump. I'm working a cheap way round it.

Hey, now THATS a good idea...
Think I'll try this one out if I can source an AFM http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif
