Anyone know of a decent peer to peer network that had a good range of files? (like some non manistream stuff  ) Kazaa is crap for this and so is WinMX

If your serious about trading, go underground and get DirectConnect - its a collection of communitites and you log directly onto peoples share directory and take what you like!
Beware though, some request 20GB of shared data (which I dont have!) so I only make it into the 2GB share rooms.
YOu do a search like before but its all decent stuff.
Also, if you wish to use Kazaa, get Kazaa Lite - no its not a crap version of kazaa but it puts your share status to 1000 so you have access to more stuff and you dont have any adware - plus theres some cool tools in it too (like the kazaa file viewer)
edonkey2000 mate everytime :)
www.edonkey2000.com for the download (ver 0.47 currently).
It's a hybrid between two networks, edonkey and overnet. Go to www.sharereactor.com for an index of some of the stuff thats on there. New films / games / Pr0n ;)

I prefer the "screeners" section myself :D

Try Edonkey, but also try:
Overnet
Emule
Emule +
They all use the same network, but for some reason one client might be better (quicker than others).
Like Emule+ is for me.

Kazaa (Lite of course!) good for mp3/divx and seems to have the most servers with high upload bandwidth. But I've experienced lots of corrupted ISO and .EXE files, so avoid it for appz.
eMule, generally takes a lot longer to transfer a file but appz work :-) My technique is to do a global search for .nfo files that more that 50 peeps are sharing, then see what's available from many sources. (plus use jiggle and sharereactor)
Use the DC++ client for DirectConnect network, and try some of the UK hubs then get the file lists of people with big (>100Mb) shares to see whats available. Downloading not very smart - can't pull from several sources and dies if the server goes offline. (Or have I missed something?)
