Hi Matt,

How much is it to ceramic-coat the following please:

1) A tubular manifold (I have a Tomei Expreme for the SR20 in my 200)
2) The exhaust housing of a GT2871R
3) The elbow (Tomei Expreme) and 3" stainless downpipe
4) Is it physically possible to ceramic-coat silencers at all no?

Thanks!

Hi jp,

I'd have to confirm these with our supplier once they have seent he parts but from experience the following should be true...

1) £195.00 + vat
2) £165.00 + vat
3) This is the tricky part -I'd have thought £100-£150.00 + vat for both pieces
4) Yes it should be possible but I would have to get the guys to quote on it as we've never done it before

Thanks Matt, do you know if there's any before & after benefits documented anywhere about this procedure or is it just theoretically good?

Nice one Matt! In that first example did they mean the intake pipes were necessary to do? Also, in the second one it mentions it lasts 3-odd seasons of motorsport - how long does the ceramic coating last if not indefinitely?

In the Litchfield example it was just the exhaust side that was done as far as I'm aware...

The ceramic coating should last a fair few years, quite how long nobody is sure. If it lasts 3 seasons or so on a race bike then it should last a bit longer on a road vehicle. We've seen coatings we did a few years ago come back looking a bit dirty but the ceramic coating itself is still intact and these are on competition vehicles (i.e. time atack).
