Which would you choose and why?
I love them both!! :confused:
The Supra just looks sooooooooooo cool :cool: :cool: :cool:
Plus Mycroft hates them :D
Zed 'cos it looks more agressive, it's a Nissan (I'm not biased, honest guv), there's less of them about than Supras, and I prefer the sound of a V6 to a straight 6.
The only downside would be that Zeds are supposed to be very prone to blowing up in an expensive fashion :(, but I don't know if that's true of Mk IV Supras as well :)

How does the sound differ? (Never been in a car that has more than 4-cylinders :o )
Straight sixes sound more smooth, more like a highly tuned motorbike engine - with a much deeper note, obviously :)
A V6 makes more of a raucous (sp?), burbly roar :D
Difficult to explain, but if you think that a straight six sounds more high-tech and a V6 more raw and beasty, you won't be far off :)

Both are very nice cars but I have and always will have a soft spot for the MK IV supras, they also have more potential.
Especially the nice bodykitted ones from Japan.,
Possible next car me thinks.

V6s can sound rough (listen to one in a Vectra or a Omega)

This is very true! V8s make me :D constantly.
One of the best sounding V8s I've ever heard is the TVR Cerbera 4.5 V8. Love it :D :D

My sister's boyfriend's mate has just got one of these in silver and I am waiting for a go in it! 0 - 100mph in 8 sec and 0 - 150mph in 18 secs! :eek: It sounds awsome when he flew down the road in it, popping and everything :D You can still hear it from over half a mile away!

I voted for the 300zx as i prefer the looks, but, i went to buy one and decided that i liked the 200 better. The 300 seemed to heavy and big for my tastes... i can't imagine the supra being much different
Said it before, 300ZX still holds the land speed record for a production car! :eek: Still, voted for the Supra!!
think the MIII supra looks cool, but it lacks the 2nd turbo :(
MIV supra just looks shite and looks heavy and gay
Zed looks quality! and totally cool and twice as nice and 3 times ur uncle :cool:

I thought that the Supra did... The one with the RB26DETT and Skyline Running gear... (ie AWD, AWS)
Drove Both... Love the Supra... The looks, Cockpit, 2nd turbo that makes you poo yourself when it comes on at 90mph! AWESOME CAR... My next one after the S13... :D

It also sounds better with the v6 lump. sounds more menacing and powerful!. Also looks much nicer esp. when targas are off!!

300ZX's arent up to the mark of the Supra. Reason being that Toyota were set to release the Supra untill they saw Nissans 300ZX and realised thier Supra simply wasnt good enough. The 300ZX sparked Toyota to totally revamp the Supra and for me, its a far superior car because of it. Thanks Nissan!
First and foremost, the 2JZGTE is a much better engine that the VG30DETT. Stronger, more powerful and much more reliable. I saw a Supra on T04R.com that has made 1124BHP (i think, somthing around that figure) on the stock bottem end! Something the VG30DETT could never do?
Secondly the handling. Supra's dont feel as heavy as they look, honest guv! Zeds on the other hand, do. Trax2002 saw the Supra's walk all over the 300ZX's too :D
Finally, the looks. The Zed was slinky and very good looking when it came out, but i believe it has dated quickly, whereas the Supra still looks fresh. You could park a Supra next to a Ferrari or some other exotica, and to the layperson, there is nothing that suggests this car isnt as equally exotic and expensive.
Id be very hard pushed to choose between a Manual Supra RZ or a Skyline GTR...

Its a tough choice but in the end id have to go for the supra, the 300zx looks a little dated (IMO ;) ) in compare to the supra.
i love them both but supra would be my choice :D

1000ps and 12 years ago. Who said the Z didn't have potential. And yeah, they couldn't beat the Z's speed with the Supra.
Yeah, the guy in the JUN Supra was apparently strapped in so tight he couldn't reach the boost controller to turn it up during the run, hence only 249mph.
1124bhp off the stock bottom end?
(Me rolls around on floor pissing my pants so much that I could irrigate the Sahara single-handed)

We can argue about the way Dyno's work in the US as apposed to UK ones, but whatever the result, thats still a stupid amount of power for a stock bottem end. (This whole stock bottem end thing is somthing to do with US Supra owners, they make a huge point of it.. Id prefere the safety of a built bottem end if i could afford all of that other stuff too)

This is the *exact* reason that Supra's get called dyno queens - which this car is. There is *no fcuking way* that car is capable of sustaining that for any longer than it took to get the dyno readout, although it might last a run at the strip. Even then it was probably done with insane fuel, dry ice on the IC, NOS, blah blah. They've simply removed the rev limit, turned the boost up, and set the injectors to 'on'. I mean, 8500rpm - FFS, the stock Supra bottom end simply isn't capable of sustaining that. You want those revs, you use a Soarer or Skyline engine, but not a long-stroke 2JZ.

We still beat the crap out of the 300zxs at Trax though...(me almost quite literally...the adverts dont half shoot by on the start/finish wall when you are doing 90mph on the grass with a 300 next to you..)
300s are great cars, better than a mkiii supra, but not as good as a mkiv supra. Its all about next generation cars. The R34s take it to the next level, and at some point something might come out to beat the R34.
I voted for Supra btw, as Im on my 4th (not in a Keith_C kinda way, all mine are still alive, just in better hands)
