I remember watching a program about racism and the question being is it as rife as it is implied and are people made to feel overly conscious and second guess their integrity.

One simple question was put to all people of different skin colour.

For Whites:
"When you look in the mirror do you see a white man/woman?"

For Blacks:
"When you look in the mirror do you see a black man/woman?"

etc

The point being that people tend to feel they are being racist when infact the majority simply are not.

The results were prodominantly... "I don't see a race I just see myself"

Make of it what you will.

racism isnt about hateing someone for there colour it's about hating someone for there race, I hate the germans (I dont) is just as racist as the same comment said about any other nation or group of people. we can all sufer from racism regardless of colour I'm afraid.
Still a snappy quote though ;)
