Only need the fronts checked.
Anyone recommend a good place for camber/toe/tracking which can handle low cars?
I would prefer not to go to a place with lasers, this is just overkill and an excuse to charge a fortune.
Thanks.

Used them a few times. They have a lift set into the ground - see the gallary.

Are they reasonably priced?
There basic alignment charge is £50 plus I think £15 per axle for adjustments, all excluding VAT. But they use a Hunter DSP600 machine and you get a nice printout with all the degrees and minutes before and after. Local companies with this same machine wanted £75 to £100 but included adjustments so I guess it depends how much needs doing.
You can get a discount voucher for 5% off from here http://www.alignmycar.co.uk/
They are usually very busy with alignments following repairs for local bodyshops, so I wouldn't leave it too late in the day for an appointment.

They wanted 70+vat for just changing one lower arm for camber.
What a ripoff.

i havent used many round here, but the garage in old wolverton tend to be quite good at just about anything, its next to motorserv.
theres also a jap garage/ place thingy/ majig/ type/ erm im not sure what in Olney on industrial estate, but i cant remember where or what they are called, i know im shit. If not Olney tyres, one of the guys that runs the place is well into his jap motors, he's got a skyline, thats on industrial estate to, might be worth a looksy.

The old wolverton garage said they could sort my camber on the phone.
Got there, waited 20 mins until the only hoist low enough for my car.
Then ....
They cannot do camber, just tracking. They admitted their guy on the phone doesnt know anything.

Jps charge extra for an alignment, even after they quote you a fixed price.
Plus the guy doesnt understand degrees/minutes (MOA).

JDP dont provide a print out, charge a fortune.
Asked them only to check toe-in, I drove away and they had changed the alignment to be something mental, car was all over the place. Took it straight back, they test drove it agreed and eventually did it right.

try: http://www.elitetech-automotive.co.uk/
Bit of a stomp away as they're near silverstone. but have excellent reviews. My cars booked in next friday for full geometry setup and 4 wheel laser alignment. Will let you know how good they are.
Plus there's a couple of ex-nissan guys that work there that certainly know their stuff

Do they have hunter kit?
I took mine to elitetech to fit and set-up my coilover's. Very good service and VERY reasonably priced.

Cheers, i didn't know i was a guru .....
Personally i feel the reason owners have such issues with lowered cars and geo is because the oem settings no longer apply, so the cars need a unique chassis calibration to compliment the modifications.
To me the modified 200sx is a dream because it's so adjustable.. It begs the question "what would you like" road, track, drift'?... it's all available.
You know you are a guru Tony :)
(PS. In case you don't realise - mine's the MX5 you used to play with your new alignment software when you got it last year :) - I know this is a Nissan forum but I never got round to leaving :sxoc: :) )

Ok just to follow up on my previous post
Had my starlet setup by these guys last weekend and I cant recommend them enough. Had full 4 wheel laser alignment, geometry setup and installation and adjustment of a new panhard rod. Totally transformed the car.
The guys there are real enthusiasts and definately know their stuff about nissans.
They even set the car up to be suited for A/B road driving...... perfect!!!
Oh and I forgot to check what alignment equipment they use, if you want though send "Ian C" a pm, he works there and im sure will be happy to answer any questions about the equipment or setup used.

Thanks for the positive feedback Paul, I'm glad we got your car how you wanted it all along!
