Just got back home from spectating at Temple Newsam & Olivers Mount, what a brilliant day we had, it was definately worth it!!!
Got to Temple Newsam at about 7am and we were the only car is the car park so we though feck it, lets go to the Elland Road service stop, drove straight into the service area and parked next to a motorhome, a guy pops his head out of the window to see who we are and its only Malcolm Wilson :wack:
His car was on the other side of the motorhome and it was immaculate :notworthy
Then we headed off to Temple Newsam and onto Olivers Mount, I will post up my better pics later
MK2 Escorts at full pelt on stages = :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :D
I will upload some pics in a bit, there not great but quite good for a 4 yr old £120 camera :wack:

nice pics  not sure how well the asconda looks now as they rolled it on one of the stages on sunday  i've got some pics just need to upload them from my camera...
well what a great day out! the sights, sounds and smells of the good old days... :D
the plan was to visit the Langdale stage in the morning but we were cutting it fine by the time we got over there partly due to not getting up early enough and partly that the butty shop was a bit swamped when 10 of us turned up at 8 o'clock :D so we bumbled onto oliver's mount and had a good look round the track. it was the first time i've been to the mount and i have to say its a cracking little track and i shall definatly be going there again  a few highlights were Martin McCormack coming of the bank on two wheels after out breaking himself on the run upto the straw bale chicane, and almost everyone who left the breaking too late on the run down the hill to the hairpin that was covered in leaves :D
at 5 we set off upto Greystoke forest near Penrith following a few escorts and support crews on the way up we got there about 9 after a quick pitstop at scotch corner and headed up into the forest in the dark. surprise surprise Malcolm Wilson, who ownes the forest, was noticable faster than the rest even on the short bits that we could see he had so much more commitment that the others who certainly weren't taking it easy, fantastic driving right on the limit in the pitch black, awsome! he made up 35 secs on the two runs through greystoke... one of the escorts out braked himself coming into the square left at the bottom of the first hill and bundled into the crowd! nobody was hurt as he was only doing about 5 mph at that point but was exciting all the same as everyone jumped out of the way he drove the rest of the stage with one spot lamp pointing into the sky :D
all in all a great day, you missed out  next on the list is Grizedale forest in the Lakes on the 29th then onto Rally GB on the weekend of the 5th-7th of dec, can't wait...
