View Full Version : 205/40ZR17
Can anyone tell me if 205/40ZR17 tyres would fit onto the car without any arch mods or anything, and also would they alter the speedo reading on the car by much?
Also, I've seen 4 TSW EVO R wheels and 4 205/40ZR17 Goodyear Eagle F1's for £595, does anyone know of a cheaper price for this? I reckon it's about the cheapest around, and I've seen them advertised for up to £800!

Sounds like a bloody good price to me.
You really want either 205/45's or 215/40's for your speedo to remain accurate.
Do you know what offset youre going for? If you are fitting bigger brakes in the future this could be vital for the caliper clearance. Matt_S went for a 35mm offset and has no clearance problems whereas Taff has 45mm and has had to use 6mm spacers.

Go for 215/40/17 they fit fine, but I think you can go wider. Matt_S said about 235's !!!

Right, thanks for the advice lads, I've had another look www.savoytyres.co.uk (http://www.savoytyres.co.uk) then hotdeals and hotdeals, and the price for 215/40ZR17 are £675 with Fulda tyres. It's still a good price though.

i'v got
215/40/17 front
and
235/40/17 rear
fit no prob, take a look at the rear:D
The closest match (diameter wise) is 205/45/17 as has been said before, but you are far better going for 215/45/17 as these tend to be cheaper and are a better match than 215/40/17, which makes your wheels smaller than they should be and leaves too much room under your arches. The 215/45 will also give a better ride than 215/40. I have been tried both on my car and would always go for 215/45.
Take a look at the date :)
