Getting a mongoose in a few days, what will I need to fit it?? or is it fairly straightforward.

Knowing my luck something like this will happen (hope this piccy works)

Also, I seem to remember from somewhere that wrapping your exhaust downpipe in some kind of thermal wrap can give you a bit more power. Anyone heard this and know what its called/where to get it?

Can't remember if is was on this forum or a private e-mail but one guy said that (don't laugh) Halfords were the cheapest he had found for a Mongoose exhaust and they also fit as well.

The exhaust wrap is used to get all the heat down the exhaust and not into the engine bay where your filter will suck it in. Most car accessory places sell it - even Halfords I would have thought.

Not laughing, I've used em myself in the past for a cambelt change on my old MR2 they only charged 90 quid, bargain.
I'll give them a try for the exhaust wrap.

You'll need sticky back plastic, a razor, some sellotape !!!

No really a couple of spanners, sockets and axle stands and thats it, shouldn't take more than about an hour, start to finish.

(soak the bolts in penetrating fluid the night before you do it)

Job done, by yourself, aren't you proud !!!

Without prejudice http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif Halfords / Ripspeed do you a complete Mongoose system fitted (apparently) for £327.83 which is probably cheaper than you could buy if yourself for. The only thing is that they still haven't got the bloody rear bracket for the car yet. I've even phoned up Collins Performance and asked them, and apparently it's true, they haven't got any brackets in stock, they're waiting for the factory to manufacture some.

But failing that, they are very good on price, and I'd (probably) go to them again for that fact alone.
