280.5 @fly
223@wheels
max power @109 and 6250
torque 244lbft
max torque @98 or 5610
Jeeze my torque is nealy as good as Gee's
Oh btw i noticed they stopped at 6390 rpm which is a bit of a shame for us T28 guys cos they pull all the way to the redline, so mine and Martins bhp would have been higher.
But was a good day, good to meet u all again, and a couple of new faces too.
Big thanks to Mr. M for organising it all.

Just to say i was muuuuuch happier going there than AVA, didnt have to stand listening to them slag off the K+N filter for 1/2 an hour

He started to move to the left so I put my foot down, then he started to move to the right if I'd tried to brake I would have ran into the back of him.
Looked like he fannied about with Kev after me?
225 @ fly
170 @ wheels
MAX @ 116mph or 6320rpm
MAX Torque - 220 lbf-ft @ 65mph or 3580rpm
all at 12 psi. I've turned it to 15 already :D
The bloke @ Star says he's not doing anymore dyno runs till after summer. He's not had a weekend off this year yet and the rollers have been working every weekend since crimbo  So we're to give him a call around October for another meet :)
I'm well impressed with the turnout :D good to meet you all again, and always good to meet new people :)
see you again soon I hope :D
cheers
Graham
Norm power - 322BHP
Engine output - 323BHP
Wheel output - 265BHP
Drag output - 58BHP
Torque - 266lbf-ft
Max power @ 6500RPM
Max torque @ 6080RPM
'95 Supra GZ TT (Auto)
^^ Well happy with the power figures, but I'm a bit confused about the torque figure as a guy on the Supra BBS also got 323BHP out of a standard car but with 326lb of torque - are there different measurements / units used for torque figures? Could it be cos the auto box was run in 2nd?

Dosen't it give you rpm and speed of max power? You should be able to work out if it was in 2nd.
Noooo, what I mean is I know it was run in 2nd gear as the operator told me (it was in manu mode). What I want to know is if the torque figure is accurate in 2nd considering another standard Supra (manual) made 326lb torque also with 323BHP.

Tonnie, you can look forward to DOUBLING your bhp! You should really notice a difference soon after all your hard work.
Exactly as Mike says, ull defo win most improved bhp at the next one.:D :D

Hopefully it should double in horse power, We'll have to wait and see! I think I will book my car in a couple weeks and see what happens

Autoboxes have a "torque converter" in their clutch to limit the amount of stress that goes into the autobox, did the guy on the supra board have a manual?
Dunc.

Hi
Great day - I really enjoyed it. Thanks Graeme & Kev for pulling it together. I vote for another later in the year.
My mates really enjoy it too - thanks for letting them come along.
figs.
227 @ engine (I predicted 245)
148@wheels (I predicted 183)
max power @110mph and 5910 rpm
torque 226lbft @ 3500 rpm
I was really happy as the dawes device I fitted on saturday
was work a treat - the power curve at 2800rpm when staight
up to max boost and holds all the way to 6000. This gives the
engine lots of flexibility.
The guy reckons I could safely turn up the boost by 0.1 or 0.2 bar.
Cheers
Kenny
Kenny, cheers for the spin in the scooby. Thanks to brian as well ;)

There's method in Tonnies madness after all!!!
What I want to know is why did Mr. Speedbump get the same BHP as me???? I think he got the 185bhp mark.
My car is bog standerd, so a little   I presume his ain't running too great as I noticed 'he who must be obeyed on this BB' :p ;) (yeah right) fitting a CAS
Splines on CAS were worn so we were trying out another, think the timing was ok, but marks werent too clear.
Didnt here any offers of help from a "proper mechanic" anyway, well apart from Marc from the garage who did help.
Jonnys is pretty much boggo too.
All he has is the janspeed backbox on a standard zorst, a K+N panel filter and washers on the actuator so 14psi.
But its missing the familier 3k kick from the T25.
Jonny did the cas sort it mate?
Oh and btw, keep these comments up and i might have to ban u for constant attacks on another member

Whatever are you refering to Master   :p ;) :D
You know more about these cars than me Kev. Yes, I am a 'proper mechanic' but by know means know everything and would never say that i did. I worked at Nissan for little over 2 years and the most I ever done to the 200 was routine servicing etc. Never ever seen one in for a turbo, running faults etc etc. Only advice I can ever offer is 'Generalised' So far, touch wood my 200 has been as good as trouble free. :)
U sorted Tonnies mate, not me.
Btw how much would u reckon a garage would charge to have bushes pressed out?

It was running when I got to it. You did the hardest part.
Which bushes? Can't you remove them yourself? Most bushes are removable with brute force and ignorance :D
And anyway, stop giving me a little praise and then asking me a question! I've met your type before :D :D

Kev's getting attacked from 2 angles now :D :D :D
Looks like me and MrM will have to set up our own BB when we get banned!
Now MrM, my mate was telling me he spotted you at Crail. Said there was no smoke from your tyres and never did your engine bounce off the limiter  :D :D
well they said I had 30 seconds to make as much smoke as possible :D
I'd say I had a fair crack at it ;)
Heyyy what a day. Thanks to all : for the organisers and everyone who's brains I sucked dry!
Here's my results:
210.5 BHP
Max torque at 91mph or 6370 rpm
Max speed 109 mph at 6410 rpm
All in all for a novice I'm well shuffed!
Problem now is what do I do next? :D ;)
Sort out the rust Dave.
then boost guage, exhaust...... intercooler........ slippery slope when ur on it:D

I got a piffling 185bhp @ fly and 140bhp @ wheels :( .
My torque was 182 lb-ft @ 4350rpm (73mph).
Was hoping for nearer 200bhp @ the fly especially when Kev (Dundeeguy's) standard 2***** got the same output as my 14psi, K+N panel, de-catted zorst with Janspeed backbox'd mota.....
Nimo, was your mota bog standard appart from the FBU or have you got a mongoose system to go with the backbox. Standard air filter for instance?
On a good note, thanks to Kev and Dunc for the CAS. My engine sits still at idle now and it felt much more smooth and eager at 120leptons on the drive home :) .
PS. that van driver was an asshole  , I very nearly rammed him when he decided to brake for no reason at 60 mph...... W@NKER!
The chap in the Corsa (I think) wasn't too bright either..... blasted his horn at me for overtaking him  .

I reckon my CAS could be dodgy. My cars kind of lumpy at idle and theres a weird noise comin from the CAS, like a knocking noise.

Just spent the past 2 nights getting every single bit of rust sorted out . Wasn't much bot cheers kev 4 pointing the wea bitty out. It's now sorted.
I'm still thinking about NOS and what does a superchip do?I've seen them in the mags for turbo injection cars for £450, but don't really know what it does!!??
tmmollah
15-04-2003, 23:37
Superchip dont do much. I've heard that they only cut the fuel cut so you can run higher boost and dont alter timming or fuel.
You would be much better off with one of horshman development chip.
Superchips are way expensive, as you said £450
Stage 1 chip from Jez is only £90 or stage 2 £115.
Have a look at his website http://www.horsham-developments.co.uk/
I've just ordered a Stage 2 chip which is specifically to the mods I have.
Tonnie
Paul_s13 is also worth talking to for chippage.
Defo dont go with a superchip, overpriced badly overpriced and not that great either.
Mike next time i should have decent tyres and my suspension sorted out (as well as my fueling obviously) so ill hopefully give u a better challenge.
btw where did u go, i was gonna do a comp test.......
fueling prob would seem to be afm and dodgy wiring related, so ill be fookin about with it at the weekend.
But ill be looking at an fpr and injectors and maybe an afm soon i reckon...... i dunno, need to see wat the implications are really.
Dave, glad u sorted it out mate:)
Tonnie, can u pm me ur addy again, cos i just wrote it down on the envelope i was sending u the last time.
Kev
Did anyone notice that the guy at Star backed off the power pretty early?
He backed off at 6700rpm on my run but my redline doesn't start until 8000rpm:eek:
I think it was the same with Kev and Martin, I must have a few more bhp lurking in that extra 1300rpm:D
Gee, where's the limiter on your gti-r then? I'm liking these pulsar's more and more everyday
tmmollah
16-04-2003, 12:09
Do they not start backing off the power once the curve starts dropping, so there would be no point in red linning the car as the power would be dropping
Originally posted by tmmollah

I'd say he did exactly that. That's what it looks like on my graph anyway. I can't see there being a massive surge or power in the last few rpm:)

Looks like that on mine, so its no big deal.
Kev if he'd revved yours to the limiter you may have been going home with the RAC if its as lean as he said.

Kev, I think I'd be highly embarassed if you pointed out I had a problem with my ring(s)! I just want to drive in oblivious ignorance enjoying the 255! Perhaps next time at Crail you could have a look for me...
Thanks guys for all the advice. Looks like I'll go with the flow and get myself a Jez stage 1 chip.
Tonnie I see your getting a stage 2.chip.Does that mean there's a cheap stage 1 going?

Dont even have a stage 1 chip. I've just bought all my upgrades in a oner.

Not been on for a while so just found this thread :o
Underpowered RX-7
229@fly
180.5@wheels
205lb/ft
Figures from memory as I've left the chart at work, but I'm 99% they're right.
Still waiting for my super duper highly improbable exhaust, will probably have to chase that up at JapFest.
Jim backs off when the power @ wheels figure drops off, I queried it as he did the same on my scoob a few years back and the fly figure on the graph was still rising when the graph chopped it off.
If my exhaust turns up I'll hopefully be back on the rollers at Star around the end of May, will keep you guys posted :)
