Hi,
just recently got my car back from se and it has a new h.turbo and oil breather system but the trouble is the dump valve does'nt work now, when before it did!?
The hoses are connected in exactly the same way but it just does'nt open at all?
Any suggestions?

The piston could have siezed, try moving it yourself.

Which valve is it, if it has a kevlar or rubber diaphram, then sometimes they can split, or slightly move so that the air won't seal and open them properly. If it is a piston type then it has probably seized in, and you could try moving it by hand or a thin piece of wood, nothing sharp.

If its the kevlar type and it has split, you can get a replacement for a tenner !!!

Checked to see if the piston was stuck but it seemed to move easy enough when i pushed it open! Any other suggestions.?

theres not much to break on em, really. Check for split or loose vacuum pipe, thats all you can do really. Where is the vacuum pipe going to on it?

Jeremy,

I think you need to check the valve at the port end of the dump valve as well as the piston. When I took mine apart out of curiosity before I fiited it, there were 2 moving parts, the piston and the valve. The vacuum pipe relieves the pressure of the top of the piston which allow the valve to push the piston up to vent air.

I presume the valve and piston stay lubricated by the oil that seems to blow out through the DV.
