Gonna be needing some oil for a full change of engine and gearbox and possibly the diff as well.

Car was previously running on Castrol Magnatec by previous owner with regular changes.

Car is unlikely to be tracked and is primarely a road car, but as we walk to work most days now, it might be a few days between it gets switch on. Journeys may be short (1.5 miles lol) if used so perhaps a thin synthetic? Obviously on weekends I may use the car properly.

Delivery would be to PL5 (Plymouth).

I would go for a decent 5w-40 synthetic, something like the Motul 8100 Xcess 5w-40 or if you want the best go ester based such as the Silkolene Pro S and the Motu 300v.

For the gearbox and diff the Silkolene SYn5 75w-90.

Prices here http://www.opieoils.co.uk and you get sxoc discount too.

Cheers

Guy.

Bought the Pro S from you guys before for my SR20DET. I take it that it's suitable for the CA18DET as well?

Obviously your in the oil business, but how long between changes would you recommend?

Sorry I mean I bought some before from you guys, I don't have any left though. I just meant is it Silkolene Pro S suitable for a CA18DET.. as it's an older engine design. BTW.. the engine is question will be around 60k -70k miles.

I see, yes its ideal. We find the CA18det tends to preferr the 10w-50 variant.
