Would anyone be interested in getting together for a Christmas meal?
Matt Lake is also organizing something so there will be plenty of choice for the West Country folk.
I have contacted the Riverside Resturant in Saltford* and they are sending me their Christmas menu. (I'll post it up as soon as it arrives).

I am thinking of going for an evening and at the moment they are fairly free from December 1st to 12th. (Other dates in December are available).
Do those interested have any suggestions for a day/date?
I'll liaise with Matt and make sure it doesn't clash with anything he is organizing for the Gloucester/Cheltenham guys. Then you can do both!!
SXOC member discounts should also be available but will post up prices when I have the menu options.
An additional option would be to meet at Longwell Green for Ten Pin Bowling, then drive down the ring road to Saltford.
I'm in!

DATES!!!?
What dates are good for people? Noted VoodooRhthym can't do 12th. (Nor anyone else wanting to crash the Welsh bash!)
5th December I think is a Friday? This would be my suggestion. Early, so shouldn't get in the way of any work Christmas do's. Also bookings start to get a little bit tight after the 12th apparently.
:sxoc:
I am in if its at the Riverside as my folks live in saltford so should be able to make any week night.

Finally got the menu through from 'Riverside'.
However it is a bit pricey. £28! - Opinions please!
Unfortunately the maximum discount the club can give is £5 per Member. (Had hoped for a bit more).
So it looks like the best option is the bowling is on the club, it's then £28 per head for the Christmas meal.
The other snag is the Cheltenham do is on the 5th as well. Was anyone planning on going to both!!? If so I'll need to change the date, but this might prove to be tricky.
I still need to book, so have to give them numbers asap, they have agreed to waiver the deposit as they were delayed in sending the menu through. I do however need to give full payment 2 weeks before. (21st November). This will also need to include our pre-order from the menu. (Starter, main course and dessert)
Right! Is everyone still in!?

I think a slight change of plan might be in order...
...and I think VoodooRhythm even suggested it before; and that's to dump the set Christmas menu in favour of just going to a pub that does food.
Regular menu will be much cheaper, nor do we have to worry about booking and taking deposits:thumbs:
Bowling will probably work out at about £10 for a couple of games. £5 discount to members.
It's then up to you whether you then go for drinks or food. (In a similar fashion to what Matt is doing for the Cheltenham/Glocer guys.)

I'll probably close this thread soon and re-open a new updated one.
