View Full Version : Team Apex's new drift car build for 09.
With great pleasure i can bring to you the start to this new and exciting project. Throgh out this year the guys and girls at Apexperformance have supported me in the British drift championship and any other drift related stuff i do. Il take this moment to say a MASIVE THANK YOU:notworthy For 09, Bren has been very kind and offerd me to drive a new car for him, not only do i get to drive the new toy but i get the plesure to build it 100% from scratch! Which is awesome as i get as much of a buzz out of building the cars as i do driving them in competition.
So again Bren and Apexperformance, i can not thank you enough for this:notworthy Il hopefully do you proud.
It all started a few months back when we 1st spoke about plans for 09, Bren mentioned, not his exact words but some thing along the lines of rebuilding my car into some thing differant. My reply was some thing like lets do it properly and start fresh:D At which Bren mutterd s15. Sadly budgets, the financial situation and prices of an s15 shel, kinda put a stop to that sharpish. So we found this, its a mint 98 year s14a, 40k mile, uk shel, with slight front damage. Thatl do:D
All iv got at the mo is pics of how it stands now, bar a few bits of loom and trim removed since the pics wer taken.
I dont want to give any thing away on the spec yet, il leave that to Apex.
All il say is, you think my s14a is insane, this is going to even more so!;)

your s14a was mint polo never got to see it in the flesh
never got to any shows this year:(but will defo be doing the shows in 09 so can't wait to see what you do with this one keep up the great work:D:wave:

knowing the way bren is playing about at the moment i would go as far as saying its almost certainly going to have a v8 in it as that looks like the future of large powered 200s tbh, lots of interest and LOTS of power....... maybe even supercharged
Looky what Ive got, snap! :D 2009 should rock, Ive been VERY impressed with what Polos done in 2008 with his build quality, his wild ideas and his attitude to pushing things to the limit. Im proud to be working with him through 2009 :)

The 2008 Apex V8 powered Skyline ran in four of the 6 European Drift Championship events. Its came 1st, 3rd, 1st and 1st. 2nd overall in the championship ;) Its currently on its way to California where we are competing in the Red Bull Drift World Championships on the 15th and 16th of November.
We worked with Polo all through 2008 with his astonishing S14a :)

Yep, I followed that closely, and had a chat about it with Polo at BDC Teeside. Still, I never heard it referred to as a Apex Performance Drift car.
ANYWAY! Well done chaps, can't wait to see the beast finished and going as sideways as possible :D
The Skyline is an Apex car through and through, Keiran and Polo were 2008 Apex EDC and BDC sponsered cars. SM and Yak were 2008 Apex sponsered Time Attack cars.
This new project is the 2009 Apex BDC entrant specced by Apex and Polo; built, driven and maintained by Polo and run in association with Team Green :thumbs:

The best thing from my side is, i owe loads of money on my 08 car, more than im asking for it, im only 23 and owe silly money, if i can clear some of that it will be blinding, selling my car and driving this one for bren makes that possable and TBH is a bigger help than support its self for 09. Bren gets a mint car at then end off the deal built for free and in the mean time some decent coverage. Its win win for all involved:nod:

APEX had the first ever 'works' drift car in the uk as it were iirc unless you count kikis S13 or brett/non as works option motorsports entries
it only did a few rounds though, who remembers??

Brett, Champ and Non all owned their cars (Brett still does IIRC) and Kiki owned Option, so Im not sure they were really "works" cars. :thumbs:

I think the poor performance was down to that gash bumper it had fitted (I am thinking about the right car?) :hurl:

Jason drove the BUrgandy S14 at Lydd.
