Hi Paul,

We carry out tuning on FF1600 single seaters without having to raise the ride hight of those cars, BUT, as your car is probably much more powerful then them and not as stiff on the suspention, we would have to be carefull that the exhaust or anything doesn't contact a roller during the power run... good for the cameras with loads of sparks out the back, but no good for your exhaust! Generally, if you have a couple of inches clearance, it shouldnt be a problem once your in.

Det detection. We do not generally fit our det cans on rolling road days. However, if you do want this, we can use them for your car for an extra small charge ;) If we hear anything without the det cans, we stop the run.

Hope this helps,
Paul.

Thanks for the speedy reply

I guess I should be ok for ride height then.

As for the DET ill leave the car in your capable hands and let you decide if its necessary etc then. I doubt I need it but im not really clued up on dynos etc

ust need to know the date now and arrange work around it

can my mate becky run her mk2 vr6 golf on the rolliing road day if theres space?

From previous rolling road days I have been to it is a complete pain to swap from FWD cars to RWD cars throughout the day. But, see what the organisers have to say :) Maybe run at the end with other FWD cars that turn up?

At the last one we had to re-adjust for varieties in wheelbases, but as already mentioned it could be signifigant to change from measuring rear to front wheel drive.

Paul says it's not a problem. And I think you were also on about becoming a fully paid up member anyway. So should be ok:thumbs:

Though it might be worth mentioning that she should perhpas run at the end to minimize rejigging the rollers around. And there may also be an extra charge for the change over on the rollers.

regarding track time, we will not be organising anything, check with the circuit to see whats available.

Its not a problem from dynoing from rear to front wheel drive cars, its the 4WD's that can take the time, for instance, if we have skylines, Evo's and Subaru's on the same day, we like to keep one make together as they all have different wheel bases between makes. But the dyno doesn't need adjusting from front to rear wheel drive, its a true drive on and go.

As Steve says though, it would be better to do all RWD cars together and all FWD cars together and if there is any 4WD cars, then do these at the end, or at the start.. I really dont mind ;)

If the day looks busy.... ie 30 or so cars, then it's best to keep as an exclusive 200SX day, but if numbers are not so big, then I see no reason not to run other cars... as long as the organisers do not mind ofcourse. You'll need to book through Steve and Matt though :)

If it never slips in 3rd 4th or 5th,i'd say it'll hold! but i'm no expert lol :wack:

It wont slip when your going motorway speeds normally, only if your going at a steady ~70mph then you plant your foot (in 4th i think it happend) it slipped for a moment then i lifted off and then back on the throttle and it was fine. Doesn't ever slip with 10psi in 1st and second:no:

Roll up, roll up :D

We have a new top 10 BHP board. Jez is on it with the 495bhp recorded, although on further analasys later on it was apparent that both runs had wheel spin :( So it will make more power than that.

Top of the board is a Skyline R34 at 562bhp, followed by 3 Invicta's, an RX7, another 200SX, plenty of Mitsubishi Evo's too. Who's going to knock the Skyline from the top of the charts? :D

I was trying to get a funky billet compressor'd GT35R for this, but it's gone a bit wrong, I ran out of time and the pound got a hammering by the dollar this week so it's on hold until the pound gets a little stronger.
That should have gone some way to threatening the Skyline.

Going to have to settle with playing with the cam timing a bit.

As Steve says though, it would be better to do all RWD cars together and all FWD cars together and if there is any 4WD cars, then do these at the end, or at the start.. I really dont mind ;)

How much is it in total for a run with the extras as a member ?

RR report:
BHPfly, BHPwheels, TorqueFly [Boost, Fuel/air - Additional £5]

We need 10 people for this to go ahead at the following prices so payment upfront is required again to ensure this

Cost -
members - £36.40
Non-members - £41.60
Plus an extra £5.20 if you would like A/F ratio

One says an extra £5 and one says an extra £5.20

You guys should know if the MAF is maxing here, 5400mA? I would measure the 0-5v output of the MAF, if its at 4.9... volts then its definately maxed.
The turbo gasket probably won't be noticeable if its warm, You'll probably get a ticking sound when cold though. Shouldn't effect boost pressure unless its noticable when warm.

Wasn't a holiday, I was in South Africa on the Dastek advanced Unichip coarse. I was 1 of 5 invited and 1 of 4 who actually turned up. It was great, met some nice people and learned alot, especially on diesel tuning :)

^^^There's a possibility of two almost indentical cars then:)....Bristol Blue has a blue s14a with evo enkei's aswell!:D

:D:D Enkeis rock, but my slicks are pretty slick at the moment, so will be rolling on the R33 GTRs.:)

Car looks fairly standard, save perhaps the AP's and blue carbon bucket seat, hubba hubba.:D:D:D:D

Yeah I've seen some of your track threads and your car seem's pretty serious underneath!(sleeper!):D

I'm surprised so few people go for the enkei's really as track wheels as they seem to do the job well and do suit the s14a:)

Oh and please ignore the wheels on my car if you see it...they are temporary!:o

hi stu, to quote my original reply to your post

by all means pop along. If there is space on the day (i can't see there not being tbh) then you are more than welcome.
there will be space, as said previously 200 will get priority, however the maximum is about 25 cars and we are well short of that:thumbs:

Aspects? Is that near Longwell Vue. If we meet there you'll need to lead the way. I'm a bit hazey on the route. Used to going M4 then A 4039.:

Aspects is where the monthly meet is! lol :) I got no problem with leading. Leave there at 9:30 to get to the combe by 10. Ill get there for 9:15ish.

anyone else want to meet there?

Im not looking doubtful - finished the RB's FMIC fitting today and now have a missing powersteering belt and a nice missfire at 4.5k + :annoyed:

Following on from this :

Cleaned the afm with brake cleaner and pressurised air and refitted.

Had time to check the coil packs on cyls 1 and 2 and also checked the plugs on those cyls which I cleaned and closed the gap very slightly.

Misfire is now not as bad and when it does happen its further up the range (about 6000) and less severe.

Also making 0.2 bar more boost than before the FMIC.

Think im going to try and check the other packs and plugs tomorrow.

Any ideas would be much appreciated as if its not fixed by fri then its pointless me coming along

What grade of plugs are you using and what is the gap you have set?

Putting it on the rollers is an ideal way of diagnosing problems. SHould be able to tell you exactly what's wrong!

Yes there is but you'd have to go a way past the comb turing to get to it, if you're coming from swindon the nearest fast food place is BK just at the end of the dc coming down from the motorway

It's the garage between the two entrances to Castle Combe racing circuit on the 4039.

If you've been to Castle Combe circuit before you'll find it no problem.

I was just joking with Rory. No problem to pay on the day. We needed minimum and maximum numbers to book the rollers, hence the list.

We need to have people paying up to prove likely attendance. We couldn't go ahead and book if everyone said 'Yeah, I'll go but pay on the day.

So it is best to pay in advance. It helps to guarentee the event can go ahead.

Running on the rollers will figure it out, though I am guessing you want it fixed so you can produce a beefy power figure.

Warmed up this morning and was missing alot and at idle too. So took all plugs out and gapped to 0.8 and seems to be better again but for how long I dont know.

Was told at work today that gappng plugs smaller can help to cover up poor coil packs so may go down that route next !

Will see how it is in the morning but hoping to come along. Dont spose someone could PM me their number so that if I cant make it I can let you guys know ?
