View Full Version : Improving Low Down Power?
Right, Any of you with a T3 will surely know what Im on about here. What can be done to improve the low down power of the S13. When cruising in Chester I stalled the car and couldnt get it going again. The problem was that I was doing my boy racer bit, razzing up and down the car park, girl out of each window (one of which had her legs round my neck to hold on http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif) and doing a few handbrake turns, on the turn I didnt give it enough revs to spin up the wheels and flooded the car.
What can be done to give them a bit more low down grunt???
Need to get something done about this as I want them legs round my neck again !!! http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif

Lightweight flywheel will help to keep your revs up, Anyway if I had 2 girls in the car with one with her legs around my neck I'd be straight of to the 1st dark corner. Ya lucky BastId

Wouldn't stalling the car after boosting like that a bit hurt the turbo? http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/frown.gif I always dreaded the time I let my mum drive my car last year so it could get some miles on the clock while I was still banned - I thought she'd come off the motorway and then immediately stall it at the first roundabout and the turbo would explode or something.
Also I've got a superlight flywheel on the order list from Norris D - should be fun... but it's not so much low down power as quicker revving ability I guess.. Considered Nitrous? Don't know if it's actually recommended for low rev situations like that .. The other way of doing it at the moment would be funky clutch control while keeping the revs up so you can just drop the clutch whenever? Still not a good idea really. Last alternative for rich types: ND Hyper Turbo? http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif

Dropping the clutch may have helped, but considering my movement was restricted (in a good way http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif ) it was hard to have much control over gears etc, lol

AndyF what Turbo you running? I got ND's super lightweight flywheel to counteract the turbo lag from the T3, worked a treat. you dont actualy get anymore power but for situations like "handbrake turns" or just needing to get the power flowing without bogging down it's perfect.
