View Full Version : Live For Speed
Bit of a favor to ask!
Would anyone mind zipping up and posting their setup for the Turbo in the 0.2v of Live for Speed as I'm cr*p at setting up my motor! I'm trying to find a good fast or drifting setup asI'm not overly concerning about racing - just drifting!
Setup files can be found at
harddrive details.. \LFS\data\settings
TIA guys!
I run a server called, SXOC Racing, i JUST finished racing :( I got some great setups, meet me on this server tomorrow night and i'll give you all i got...
Careful, first ones free then ........
:D

The problem with the turbo is that everyone tries to set it up like an FF car, Ie slammed and on rails, and that doesnt work.
TO make this car quick, harden up the front, but dont bother too much with the back, it may feel like understeer alot, but if the backs stiffened up, then you just lose traction out of the corners.
With my setup I can post sub 1:33 laptimes on the GP track, and pass people on the exits of corners as they wheelspin or balance the throttle, where my setup, I just nail the throttle out of the corner and get little or no slide :D
My advice is to soften up the rear, till you thinks its way way to soft, then thats about right!
mad game this. we have been playing it over the network in the office.
any ideas on how to get credits quickly? free?

The way i got credits was go to the skidpad, hardest opposistion, max number of cars and just drive round 3 times gives you 50ish credits. The AI cars just sit on the startline :)

Hex edit a file. Change a value to FF to get 255 credits.
I forget which file.
No LFS on these PC's.
Will look when I get home ... (and shave my hair off)

People at work not appreciate your new haircut then? Bummer.
Wouldn't mind a copy of your setup tonight Vez.. wanna race ?
I've found a mod for the game so you can increase the turbo boost to 28 PSI, change the engine from inline to a flat or a V, add slicks & downforce variables. You can also adjust the mass of the car as well!
Now I'm getting v.low 1:30 to 1:28 without any changes to the car!
Just thought I'd let you know!:D :D :D :D
if anybody wants it, you can get this at this site as well as various skins, editors, etc!

I'll get me flame-proof pants!:) ;)
Now I'll probably get banned for introducing the disgraceful and downright appalling idea of cheating in PC games to the SXOC forum:D
tough tough call, i do hate cheating in this way, but it's a form of modding no ? hehe
i prefer to mod via the game then everyones on a level playing field
Damn you all............
Now you gone and got me addicted to LFS, but I'm crap at it. Best lap time so far on the advanced track 1:34:27 :(
I guess car setup is important. I tried tweaking, made it worse, put it back to standard. Car handles like it weighs 6 tons not 1200kgs
Very impressive for a freebie tho :)
Just a bit annoying that the AI cars can gently tap you and off you go, but slam into them and they shrug it off without batting an eyelid................I know bad workman blames his tools and all that pants but it winds me up.
Just got to wait until mid may before I get ADSL then I will give it a go online.
YAY
another convert... anyone wanna have a regular night a week where we race ? I've got some pretty good setups for both the tubby and the GTI. I can lap regular 1.33's in the turbo
