Stay tuned ... I'm getting a provisional test done tomorrow (assuming they can disable my fan as it's knackered).

An earlier result a few months back gave 85bhp at the back wheels at something like 3500rpm, the rest of the run got cancelled because the dyno guy noticed my car was underfuelling rather badly.

Getting another rolling road done within a month too when I have an uprated intercooler, chip and boost upgrade done. I'm hoping for 170-180 tomorrow.. so that would probably be around 130-140 at the wheels ?

Had mine RRed a couple of weeks back. Pretty happy with the outcome- 288bhp at the flywheel/ 245bhp at the wheels. http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif

Hi mate,
I was running 254bhp at the flywheel running 12 psi, now running 18psi and a stage 2 on the way plus engine mods for the big 300+ thats on the way, cant wait to see what Im doing now. RR on the way but a rough estimate of 280 as she stands, god knows with the stage 2 chip and electic fans that are on the way maybe 290 (I hope) will reveal all in a couple of weeks

My car isn't going to blow up tomorrow is it? If peak power's at 6400 with the standard intercooler, I don't think I'll bother letting it go above 6500. If I want to get a run with and without the fan connected, they won't charge extra for that will they? Well maybe a bit to disconnect the fan but they won't charge for a second run ?

I was running 235bhp at the flywheel with the boost dropping off from 15psi to 12psi at the redline.I've now fitted an Evo 6 FMIC and it holds 16psi to the redline so a good guestimate........250ish?

Well, had my car RRoaded at the same place as Steve(Carter100) the day after him.
264bhp at the flywheel/229 bhp at the wheels (I think).
Running T25 hybrid/knackered actuator at 15 psi and standard fuel pump at the time.
Got an SE fuel pump now and gonna nick Steves old T25 actuator (cheers mate) and see what we get with 17 psi (275 bhp please!)
Made a hell of a difference.
I was running 12 psi and had 235 bhp on the first run.
Turning the boost up by 3 psi gave me 30 geegees!

Wahey!
Just been to the rolling road place and it's a rally mechanic doing the testing http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif Anyway, the front DIDN'T scrape on the rollers when the car dips down to go over, which I was surprised and happy about. Did a couple high rev runs then told me and the other guy to sit in the boot to help the traction I guess.
Got a peak power reading of 160 at the wheels, so I am VERY happy about that. The car has HKS Hiper Muffler exhaust, HKS Sequential blow off valve (not that it would help power), uprated Bosch fuel pump (from norris, not sure which one that is). The fan was noisy as expected and it could not be disconnected. Still it's an additional 5-10bhp when I get that fixed or eventually switched to electric. No graphs unfortunately so I'm going to fire up Excel and plot one myself. I have no idea what percentage of the power is wasted via mechanical losses so I'm not sure what my power at fly wheel is .. He said it was about 20 up from standard so what, about 185-190 bhp I guess.. Not bad.. Very happy!

I think its about 19% for rear wheel drive and 21% for 4x4. Varies from car to car though.

Well, if we are working on 19% loss on a rwd, that means my 181 at the wheels means 223Bhp at the flywheel http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif Or 213Bhp if we work on 15% wich most others seem to do.

I would like to think it was the higher, but I would be inclined to believe 213 was a more accurate figure for my mods.

Std T25 and IC, Scorpion, 13psi and K&N kit.

Wonder what it makes now at 14-15psi. Prolly 220+ for all of 3 seconds till the boost drops off!

The last time I got mine RR I got 190bhp at the wheels, so about 230bhp at the crank.

What happens at a rolling road, i know they test how much power they have, what i want to know is do they tune it aswell, say the ignition time etc. is that in the price or do they charge extra to make it its peak

thanks

Morning Peeps

I was looking at booking mine in for a RR this weekend at Power & Engineering in Uxbridge.

I'm in North London so they are the only ones I know of. R there any others about.

Las time my car was RR was b4 my FMIC and Fuel Pump mod.

b4 it was 213/199 @1Bar tested at 18degress ambient temp - it was a very warm day plus I'd driven 50odd miles to get there
(zStd T25,JanSpeed zorst,de-cat pipe, K&N & SE Boost Upgrade & Stg 1 EPROM)

I'm expecting around 240, but as Paul says he reckons mine putting out more power as I was all over his rear bumper on the M1 back from Santa Pod 2 weeks ago. So who know's maybe I'm pushin 250. (I'd be very happy with that)

I reckon around about 240BHP.

As I appear to be one of the few people on this site to have a standard car (remember those?) I was wondering :-

With all the extra grunt you guys have do you end up struggling to keep the car on the road? Do you wear your rubber out a lot quicker?

Please note: these are not intended as dull questions....

Ripper: I'll let you know when I get the intercooler + boost upgrade done http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/wink.gif
As of now, with a claimed 160 at the wheels (it still feels more lethargic than a mint condition stock car.. the fan is really crippling it), in the dry, it's really grippy on the road. I'm guessing it's only going to be a problem if you don't control the throttle too well - full boost round a corner will send the back out fairly easily but at the moment it's not really doing that. It seems to start a very small slide but I'm round a corner by then and the car just kinda bounces back into it's suspension and it carries on. Also I don't really have too many great roads to drive around up here in Blackpool. The exhaust currently hangs a bit too low to go hairing it around country lanes but the trip to Norris later this month should sort that all out. I don't like having to do 40 - 50 mph down the nearby single-lane country track which happens to be a major shortcut into Blackpool town / motorway junction because it will just crump the exhaust going over some of the bumps. as for rubber usage, I haven't changed the tyres yet but they are making a lot more noise around corners in the dry so I'm definitely adding that to the priority list...

I'm not sure if it counts but I 'modified' my air freshener (smelly tree thing) over the weekend. I always hang it round the strap on the passenger A-pillar and I was driving down the M5 yesterday with the windows open and it 'bailed out' at 120.

It was then promptly 'modified' by the cars in lanes one and two.

Does this count (I haven't told the insurance company)?

Hi Ripper,
The main thing I've noticed change is fuel economey or rather lack of it. the tyres are wearing a bit more quickley but thats because I've been thrashing it a bit more. As for keeping it on the road, no probs in the dry leathel in the wet, traction control sorts that out though.

Lets hear it for the standard boys!!
All I have done is put in a K&N replacement panel filter. Made a hell of a difference though. Hopefully got a Bailey Evo dump waiting for me in the post room at work now!!

Have you lot told the Insurance Co.s about your K&Ns 'cos I have been advised that you should.

That's why I haven't.

Yet.

What K&N?!?!?

No I haven't bothered as it is not visible. Also the dump valve is not for performance but for protection.

Plus I keep the original one in the boot so unless I am really badly hurt in an accidents I can change it before any insurance assessors come out.
